If Lucas coming back had any traction, I'd imagine the compromise would be more on Disney/Lucasfilm's part...

I'd imagine within the next couple of years. Filoni has all the attributes to make an interesting/good SW film, but even those with the best potential have to 'usually' gain some hands on experience first... which he's now getting of course in terms of directing live action.

Looks like its probably a clothing line. With the dearth of curated lines,limited editions, pop up stores, etc out there it makes some sense to do some star wars clothes that "have a story".

 

Production studios all want this and have been searching for it since WB won Harry Potter. Kids learning about powers is a merchandise goldmine.

Disney already will have the MCU with a young superhero show (rumored to be starring Scarlet Witch and Dr Strange) for Disney+.
The Boys is having a spin off like this for Amazon.
Talks of a new young DC superhero show with Time Warner and HBO.
There are rumors of multiple other IPs doing the same for TV and film.

If LFL is just doing this for giggles (or wasting on graphic novel or clothes without a strong visual tie-in) then they are far more horribly ran than anyone can imagine and I don't believe that.

Who leads it is the biggest question. Could be Rey as LFL uses this to take the GFFA going forward. If its an older story of Luke - leads to a big can of worms I'll leave alone for now.

 

It's probably just little Luke and Grogu webisodes like Forces of Destiny and what have you.

It begs the question: Why didn't Disney pursue this with the sequels? Those films could've easily been used as the springboard for a "Luke's Academy" spin-off.
