Discussion ROGUE SQUADRON - Patty Jenkins Film Potentially Back On

I mean I'm never wrong. I don't know what you guys are talking about.

 

I mean we all were wrong about Joel Edgerton so.....

 

Let's play nice, folks. We're all entitled to our own opinions, no matter how wrong you are.

This movie is gonna be awesome. Jenkins is very talented. I remember the antecipation for each sequel movie, I hope I can experience that same feeling again with this one, LOL.

 

I don't know... I didn't particularly like the first Wonder Woman film (I know a lot of people did), which managed to be both plodding and derivative in equal measure... and the second one, which I saw last week, was pretty awful (IMO). I did really like Monster, but Jenkins is a very average filmmaker IMO, and I'm kind of dreading what she's going to do with Cleopatra.

 

She's a fine filmmaker, IMO. I watched the WW movies and they're... okay. Not amazing. Not awful. Just okay.

Do we know who is writing the screenplay?

 

I think it be a decent story and grounding point for the post ST era story, i think all these standalnoes might be in post ST era.

 

Gonna be interesting to see her work for a studio that isn’t Warner Brothers

or the DC franchise

 

also it will be interesting because it will have x-wings

 

that too so I hope that makes it extra special.

 

Really wish we knew who is writing the script. It would give me more hope for this project.

 

I think it’ll be healthy to manage my expectations on this one. Which is actually easy to do, as it looks like it’ll essentially be a fun pilots’ story. No galaxy-shaping events or personalities to have to worry about. It’s a good move at this point.

Despite my skepticism about Jenkins’ style and direction, I’ll be fine with the full range of bad-to-classic on this one.

 

I wonder if ot just be a pilots story or if get glimpse of a goverment, some politics into it.

 

Really, all movies should have them.

 

I suppose it depends on which era it's set in.
