"What a start... ha ha. Anywaaaaayyyys, let's get back to more important things, shall we? I, QueenSabe, am your host for the Spring 2021 RPF Awards! It has been a moment since our last celebration for our community, so I do hope there will be robust participation and fun competition amongst peers and friends alike!"

"With that said - the rules are as follows. Please read carefully!"

#1. The first round will consist of a 2-week open nomination period, beginning today. You will post your nominee for each respective category here in the thread. Once the deadline is reached, I will tally the votes and the top 3 for each will become the finalists.

#2. Following nominations, a 2-week voting period will commence. You will PM your votes directly to me to be counted and at the end of the time period, winners will be announced in-thread.

#3. In the event of a tie during either Awards period - How many awards either candidate has already been chosen for will factor into breaking the tie, and the user with the least will be favored.

Prizes: The winners of the “Best Roleplayer” and “Best GM” awards will get a month of colors, and the winner of “Best RPG” will get to add that designation to the thread title of the game. The rest, well you get your bragging rights for as long as you feel necessary!

Rules: The prior Best Roleplayer, galactic-vagabond422, and Best GM, LordTroepfchen and Best Game: Fall of Elyseum/Episode X - The End of Harmony cannot be nominated for the same Awards this season!

"Best" Awards:

Best GM: Gonna have to go with the ultimate mad man @Sinrebirth, the consistent, fast-paced games he runs have me on the edge of my seat.
Best RPG: There were two games I am particularly torn between but I think I'm gonna have to go with Genesis Gate by @Darth_Elu. The possibilities in that game have me very excited and any excuse to play more of the Patriarch is a welcome one.
Best Original Character: Ergh lame I know but I could not narrow it down to one, if I narrow it down before the end of the deadline I'll edit one in... sorry lol
Best Interpretation of a Canon Character: Rey (@QueenSabe7) in Episode X

"Most" Awards:

Most Promising New Roleplayer: Define 'new' lol... While still breaking into the scene @Narancia is a gifted player and I hope to see more from him in the future.
Most Expansive Vocabulary: @greyjedi125 I'll never forget 'Hieratic Scale of Hematic Principalities' my goodness lol...
Most Humorous GM: @Sinrebirth mainly for the banter surrounding the games he runs lol
Most Unpredictable GM: @darthbernael While I've been able to guess a couple of things that are happening in The Final Game. The amount of twists and turns in that game is astounding and the clear end goal of the game has become greatly muddled in a very awesome way.
Most Likable Original/Canon Character: Ayira by @spacelady... for errr... reasons...
Most Unsavory Original/Canon Character: Kaynus played by @Master Vo'Un'Var the walking definition of a spoiled brat (Kaynus I mean not Vo lol ), every line brims with sheer glorious pompousness and annoyance.
Most Entertaining Duo/Group: Jam (@The Jedi in the Pumas) and Maez (@greyjedi125) Wanna know what happens when you put a Saiyan and an Orc together... sheer and utter chaos... you can start here if you wish.
Most Heartbreaking Death: Oh my sweet, sweet Isha (@Kurisan) I'll avenge your death or bring you back to life, or something!

The “Split” – @galactic-vagabond422 The range of his characters is nuts from the meek to the bloodthirsty. To the drunken pirate to the weary pilot. An amazing spectrum of characters.

The “George RR Martin” – Well even though he was not the one to kill them by his hand he still allowed it to happen. @darthbernael letting Sinre kill oh what? Five gods? (Including himself) So yeah...

The “Straight Shooter” - Hmm.... I think I am going to have to go with @The Jedi in the Pumas playing as Jam, the posts are not the longest in the world (yeah the big font helps mask that... ) but a joy to read each and every time.

The “Princess and the Scoundrel” - The bond that has been shown between Ma'at and Samhain (boo! ) played by @greyjedi125 and @Sinrebirth respectively I thought was excellent. Shame Samhain had to ruin it all... lol

 

"Best" Awards:

Best Roleplayer: The toughest nomination ever this season: @Ktala ( Awesome work! )

Best GM: This one goes to @Shadowsun for his fantastic work in Ryujin

Best RPG: Ugh!! Super tough one as well. Saga of the Ryujin @Shadowsun.

Best Original Character: Another tough one. So many choices. Rebecca Dragon @galactic-vagabond422

Best Interpretation of a Canon Character: @Darth_Elu for Hal 9000 in Genesis Gate.

Best Roleplayer: Hm... This one's tough... I would have to say @HanSolo29 for the excellent detail and effort they put into each character.
Best GM: @Darth_Elu puts an insane amount of detail into his games that is quite outstanding.
Best RPG: Genesis Gate. Best game on the boards right now hands down.
Best Original Character: The Jam by @The Jedi in the Pumas

The “Straight Shooter” - @TheSilentInfluence for their fantastic posts in Pokemon - Kanto thus far.

 

Hard to choose between so many great people, also some have already been mentioned so wanted to include people and games that I feel deserve recognition as well

Best RPer: @Mistress_Renata - for Delphi in The Encroaching Madness (and her earlier incarnation in The Calm Before the Storm) and Max the Black Sheep's resident paranoid
Best GM: @Bravo - for The Kingdom and Paradoxical Echoes, the sheer amount of work and the details
Best RPG: @Bardan_Jusik 's Black Sheep - it is the closest thing to the classic Rogue and Wraith Squadron novels
Best Original Character: @Bodhran777 's Sergeant Major (retired) Jack “Jackie” King from The Encroaching Madness, an excellent twist on lycantropy by having a were-croc
Best Interpretation of a Canon Character: @Corellian_Outrider 's rendition of Ahsoka Tano in the Galaxy at War series, closest to Filoni's vision of her

Most Unsavory Original/Canon Character: @The Real Kyp Durron 's Saxon Hollymander from the Black Sheep, he was straight out evil
Most Entertaining Duo/Group: @Sarge 's Riki and Tiki from the Black Sheep - very distinct and funny characters (also to spite @Sinrebirth 's Traer )
Most Heartbreaking Death: @Jerjerrod-Lennox 's Devereaux Bombardier from the Black Squadron, even though I am not in the game the character's death had impact

The “Princess and the Scoundrel”: @Vehn for Lou and Airen's romance in the Black Sheep and the adversities they have faced

 

"Best" Awards:

• Best Roleplayer --- @TheSilentInfluence :TSI has had a constant, ever evolving character ( Elena Shan ) in both Paradoxical Echoes and The Kingdom. Its been a joy to RP with her almost exclusively with my own character, Animal. And I think both characters have grown and evolved because of this consistent interaction. Its been a great joy. I don't think TSI gets enough credit for the thorough role player job she does with, at least in my two games, Elena Shan. It takes great detail and hard work to stay consistent with a character for any length of time.

• Best GM --- @Bardan_Jusik : Jusik always seems to have a game. Something for someone to latch onto, dive into. It doesn't matter if its page 1 or page 2, there's a game that's working itself through the daily bump up and down cycle of the boards. His games don't seem too many and you don't get the overcrowded feeling---you get that just right amount for it to always spark my interest.

• Best RPG --- I haven't had a chance to really look at other games to give an honest review.....

• Best Original Character --- I'll go back to @TheSilentInfluence with Elena Shan because of the previously mentioned reasons.

• Best Interpretation of a Canon Character --- I haven't had a chance to really look at other games to give an honest review.....

 

"Best" Awards:

• Best Roleplayer: @Vehn From Limmie through Black Sheep, Kain's Heroes, the Intervention franchise and countless more, Vehn always creates wonderfully rich characters that are beautifully written.
• Best GM: @Trieste His GMing of the ELL sets the standard by which all other GMs are judged, at least by me anyway.
• Best RPG: Elite League Limmie: It's unique, it blends sports and Star Wars and players can go with pretty much any storyline they can think of to fit within it. Despite that (or maybe because of it) it has resisted any and all attempts to "break" the game, and believe me, there have been more than a few.
• Best Original Character: Trieste's Lyndsey and Artemis Cash (because the two are like totally inseparable) These were a hilarious pair and engrossing read watching them learn to become the best hydration specialists they could possibly be in the ELL. Oh yeah, and they became bounty hunters too.
• Best Interpretation of a Canon Character: Haven't seen too many of these lately, just not reading the right games I guess.

"Most" Awards:

• Most Promising New Roleplayer: No nomination
• Most Expansive Vocabulary: No nomination
• Most Humorous GM: Trieste
• Most Unpredictable GM: Trieste, the random number generator helps with this a bit. Hey can I nominate the number generator?
• Most Likable Original/Canon Character: It's nigh on impossible not to like @darthbernael's Finnfrael Ordwgal from Black Sheep, though it is nearly impossible to spell it correctly.
• Most Unsavory Original/Canon Character: Sinre's "Master", various incarnations.
• Most Entertaining Duo/Group: The entire cast of The Black Sheep. The original group that started this game is fantastic, and even as other players have come and gone and new ones added to the mix every one seems to integrate well and be welcomed by those who came before so as one can't even tell who has been here all along and who is posting for the first time in the game. Just a wonderful experience GMing this game with this group of players.
• Most Heartbreaking Death: @Sarge 's Riki and Tiki from Black Sheep. These guys were too funny to be killed off like that!

Special Category Awards:

Best Original Character: UGH! This is an insanely difficult one........I'm gonna say *hems and haws for a while longer* Ayira from Genesis Gate by @spacelady Granted, I have lots of background knowledge of this character, but nevertheless a deep one who is well written and deserves even more attention than she's gotten
Best Interpretation of a Canon Character: Another tough one, but I'm going to just barely lean toward...Daisy Johnson/Quake from Marvel: A New Breed by @greyjedi125 Very well done, I think!

Most Expansive Vocabulary: @Mitth_Fisto Going to agree with this nomination.
Most Humorous GM: @Shadowsun For certain situations and scenes and how they're presented...plus Zalzabar alone is hilarious!
Most Unpredictable GM: @Bravo Have no idea where he's going with The Kingdom, but am loving the ride so far.
Most Likable Original/Canon Character: Psion aka Zephyr Vaillancourt in Marvel: A New Breed by @Ameteth Amazingly written with a load of 'Good Guy Charm.'
Most Unsavory Original/Canon Character: Master Xian Nin in Things We Lost in the Fire by @greyjedi125 Varayik still does not like this man! Hmph. Nope. Not at all!

Hello all! *ahem* I must offer my sincerest apologies for the lengthy delay in bringing you the final set of nominees for the Spring 2021 RPF Awards. A Special Note from your RPF Mods and Awards Host -

We can only apologise for the delay, the Moderators and host had quite a brutal argument back and forth on how the nominations would go forward, especially as we had many singular nominations. So, on that basis, we have leveraged multiple nominations against singular ones to try and increase the variety of options, but we reached the Straight Shooter category and were unable to decide between the three that were tied. As such, the Straight Shooter will be (for this time) expanded to five options! Congrats to Pumas, Silent and the Admiral for being such impossibly high quality nominations.
