I haven't watched the video yet but if I can make Aloy Spider-Man the hell away from some rampaging machine instead of standing there and eating it/rolling like a maniac I would be very happy.

 

I'm not quite sure I understand the reference of "standing there and eating it/rolling like a maniac." I don't remember ever being able to just "stand there" against a rampaging machine in the game.

 

I know you can avoid, I just ended up doing that anyway. Lots of health potions and shield weaver armor for me!

 

Being able to easily pull away (depending on the surrounding location, of course) means that you can afford getting much closer without too much worry. Rather than sniping it bit by bit and running away when the big machine notices you, as I often did...

 

The one weird thing from the new video that I brought up about in a HZD/HFW Facebook group I follow was the scene where she's fighting with a strong human enemy. It just didn't seem too convenient to be loading up and shooting arrows at a human at point-blank range as opposed to using your spear to swipe at him (or maybe throw some bombs).

 

I just hope human AI isn’t complete garbage this time around.

Also that the color theme on menu is different as it could kick off a migraine for me and leave line tracers after I read entries.

 

This look visually impressive but something about the gameplay doesn't do a lot for me. I enjoyed the last one well enough but had my fill by the time it ended. That said I'll keep my eye on this.

 

Apparently it's still being mooted as a Q4 2021 release.

I hope is it BUT if it needs to be delayed to avoid a CP77 style release then I'm perfectly fine with that

 

To be honest, I think it'd be better as a big 2022 release.

Explosive tripwires are your friend. Shoot off the disc launchers, get it to charge into a tripwire ambush, grab one of the launchers and blow the crap out of it. If it isn't dead, it'll be severely hurt.

 

There's amusing videos on YouTube of players carrying the disc launchers from the Thunderjaws all the way across the map.

 

yah I trip-wired a lot at the start, like a lot, later on it was full on flamethrower and tearblaster was huge for me cuz I'd basically strip them down to core components. Although I'm glad there's more options to flee into the air this time it looks like.



I did lug one big machine gun that I got off a machine across a chunk of map and sniped one of those damn flying things that always give me heck went down in two shots, that was quite satisfying.

 

Clearly a Gullwing, there's no way you're two shotting a Stormhawk!

 

yah Glinthawks. I kinda love in one of the fights when one of the human baddies in the capital city and summons the machines to fight Aloy he says something like "BEHOLD! THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE GLINTHAWKS!!" or super over the top. I just like when people announce the thing that's attacking them.

 

The verticality in this demo was awesome. Taking things literally to the next level.

 

Can't wait to play this when they release it on Steam in 2024.

 

Forbidden West finally gets an official release date.



I'm anticipating that by then I'll have acquired a PS5.

 

Also HZD has had a patch boost !

Really looking forward to going back to that world

 

Maybe I need to revisit ZD at some point as I couldn't get into it the first time.

 

Horizon is a great game. I'm about to revisit Cyberpunk with the latest patch and then Tsushima, once done I'll probably hit Horizon for a rerun prior to Feb's release.

I'll have to fight my daughter to play it though as I think she's looking forwards to it more than me

Edit: Everton informs me that Destiny 2's "Witch Queen" is released on 22 February. So it seems I'll get 4 bonus days of gameplay before the War for PS5 Play Time begins...

 

Yeah I'm very annoyed with this timing. I'll just be playing it simultaneously with Witch Queen I guess. At least I don't have to share the PS5
