Gaming E3 2021 (and Summer Game Fest) - Discussion Thread (Starts June 12th to June 15th)

STALKER 2 is generating the most excitement for me, but I am glad about the return to The Pitt in Fallout 76.

After years of their "Games For Windows" debacle, Microsoft hit the mark with Game Pass, and apparently are back with another winner, aren't they?

At this stage, Swansong looks more interesting to me than Bloodlines 2, especially since they effectively removed all that was good about the latter.

Also was all of capcom just MH and RE8 updates/dlc? Seems like nothing really happened today.

 

Why am I just now realizing PS is absent?

 

And the extended live flute performance. Lest we forget.

 

Nintendo Direct description - featuring roughly 40 minutes of information focused exclusively on Nintendo Switch games mainly releasing in 2021.

Therefore my guesses on what they'll feature
1) Mario Golf releases in 10 days (June 25) so they'll probably feature this and play it during the Treehouse.
2) Skyward Sword releases in 1 month and 1 day from today (June 16), so I bet they'll feature this as well, maybe show off the new Zelda themed joy-cons during the Treehouse.
3) As we speak, Koei's Youtube channel is currently live and I believe they're showing off Samurai Warriors 5 which releases the day before Mario Golf (June 24) so I'm sure Nintendo will touch on this.
4) Monster Hunters Stories 2: Wings of Ruin newest trailer featured yesterday during the Capcom panel but I'm sure Nintendo will incorporate into their video since it releases July 9
5) Did Square Enix show off Neo: The World Ends with You during their presentation? Again, if they did, Nintendo will surely incorporate into their E3 video. This releases July 27.
6) As we know Splatoon 3 releases in 2022, but I'm sure they'll have a small update to show off
7) Something fun that isn't related to SS or BOTW2 to celebrate Zelda's 35th anniversary

I think you've got some solid guesses. I do wonder if we might see a bit of Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires alongside hypothetical SW5 footage since that got delayed to "nebulous 2021 release."

 

Xenoblade 3? Or even just XX remake if they can pull it off. I still got to buy a Wii U if not.

SMT games are never on a clock. They're on esoteric morality systems they never surface the mechanics of.

 

I’ve never played one. It looked fun though. No clock news is good to hear. I stopped P5 cause I couldn’t use my time wisely.

 

Pick up the Nocturne remaster in a sale if you get a chance. It's got some creaky parts but it's a rock solid JRPG and should give you a good idea of what they're like. The other entries are on 3DS or the ever popular "Japan only."

Edit: Did this guy on Treehouse just say the name we all agreed to never say again in a Metroid context? Now I'm worried.
