So, we have confirmation it exists. Now for months of asking this same question about Canon over and over again.

 

I doubt it be legends the rumor from credible leaker said it combine both games as one big canon game.

A remake that combines 1-2 and then resolves the clffhanger.

 

It may well be legends, as opposed to Legends.

 

I mean I think the story is still the same (although Revan is canon via TROS vis dictionary) but like again will we get mentioned of Exegol or Jeddah just in casual conversation maybe even a cross guard saber as weapon. Those sorts of things that can for lack of a better term make it fit

Realistically, it won't even be that noticable if it's in a separate timeline. Assuming it's still 4,000 years before the films.

The question is more about whether Canon lore will be woven in in any significant way.

It think when say legends Revan is a sith legend in canon.

 

Oh by the way it’s also coming to the PC

 

I hope we see Lothal in here as that was important to the jedi in old republic.

change or update the story so female Revan can fall in love with Bastilla or Carth and have the gender exclude one choice or the other.

Yay, cool, I may have a chance to play it then. This article also confirms this: "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake will see the classic RPG return as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive at launch and for PC."

 

Interesting that, in addition to tech advances, they mention storytelling technique advances in that article.

I think it'd be more surprising by its omission than inclusion, with the headlines to match.

 

Surprised to see a reference in that blog to KOTOR being part of "Legends" storytelling. We fans use "Legends" as shorthand for the Expanded Universe nowadays, but in actuality "Legends" is actually a publishing program intended to keep books and comics that don't fall into the present continuity in print. KOTOR doesn't fall under that umbrella.

Just something to remember as we settle in for the next several years of debates re: canon. I would suggest caution in assuming that the lack of an explicit "Legends" banner implies canonicity.
