The Peon sat beneath the oaks which did spoke. The wind was there voice, it howled around the Titan who took off his mask. He looked at the Reek bone he had been so proud of forging and with fire inside smashed it against the trunk, shattering it in many pieces.

“No more masks.. I am done with hiding, acquiescing to shame”

The Peon rose and turned to see a Lady in Crimson mantel standing there. Her skin was ashen and her gaze penetrating. Her hands began to swirl with emerald light as she drew toward Tormentum.



“These trees feel, and you have assaulted them unduly!”

Tormentum eyes burned like coals, he gripped his saber hilt.

“Come to chastise me witch? I will cut down each limb if you try me!”

The Nightsister made motion with both hands that sent a orb of emerald light at the Titan like a blaster bolt. The Peon ignited his ruby blade and deflected it into the trunk which scorched, leaving a black mark.

“My code of honor urges me to withdrawal, you being a maiden. However, you have assailed me, vexed me, and so now I must caste aside what courtly advantages you would have had!”

The Nightsister scoffed.

“Honor, a fool’s prize. You really think it can coexist with Magick, with the Sith?!”

Tormentum’s face peered at this women who dared to question his ethos. He desired to resch out and choke the life out of her, but this honor she harped against was what held him in check from doing so.

The Peon deactivated his blade.

“There is no point.. there is nothing in the Void, in the futility of existence. We are vessels of the dark side, which will caste us off when a stronger vessel presents itself.”

The Nightsister drew nearer, he hands still aglow.

“Then why not be a Jedi?”

Tormentun laughed, his chest heaving at the words.

“You mistake me. I don’t desire peace. Even if I am but to be vessel for Bogan, however brief, it is better than a slave to the Republic, and being a hypocrite.”

The Scarlet Witch let her emerald embers fade around her fingers.

“Better to burn out, than never burn at all.”

The Titan nodded.

“I’ll take all the frustrations, the futility, even moments in The Void if it means a moment of passion, of flame, of heat that consumes worlds.”

The Nightsister took a seat on one of large roots of the gnarled oaks.

“You are like many who have come before and will come after. In the end we will all be lost to The Void.”

Tormentum nodded.

“My soul is ready for the torment of the abyss that waits in the next. What troubles me is the here and now. What to make of this life, what it is for?”

The Scarlet Witch parted her white hair.

“A philosopher. I thought you a dumb brute..” I could have forgiven a dumb brute (quote from Troy film).”

The Peon looked at his smashed mask and the tree.

“These oaks will Oneday burn, we have prepared them for that day, a foretaste. Besides if you want my life, you may claim it.”

The Nightsister etched a smile with her black lips.

“You are placing your life in my hands? You are Peon, I am a slave.”

Tormentum retorted.

“We are all slaves, all peons. Something is always puppeting us wether powers, people, or our own personal feelings. Our chains are forged when we are born.”

The Nightsister removed the rest of her hood, exposing her pale ears.

“Then let me properly introduce myself, I am Merrin.”

The Titan gave a broken smike, a scar battling the movement of the wave that tried to form it.

“I am Tormentum.”

I don't want to duel anyone now.. Meh!!

 

A head tilt and the rise of an eyebrow... but decides not to push the issue further.

As you wish Lord Ravenous, the challenge issued by the Peon Tormentum is declined.

The honor is restored @Darth Tormentum, as one can infer. That is what you sought after all.

It was a quite simple affair really... perhaps elongated, but now resolved.

Gnarled Garden Nuptials

The Titan took his place on the bench of root beside Merrin, who parted a rebellious strand of hair.

“If you are to be in my debt, I shall have to christen you a Nightbrother. I must warn you, such a title will not incur honor among most Sith. For it means to be subservient to Nightsisters.. to Women.”

The Peon parted a loose strand of his wavy hair, it had for so long been hid behind a helm.

“My code of honor demands service to maidens, so this will not be a hard burden to bear. As for honor from my Sith peers and betters, there is no guarantee one way or the other, my honor does not demand they recognize my code.”

Merrin made another smile with her black lips.

“Very well.”

The Nightsister took a blade and took Tormentum’s hand. She removed the black glove to reveal pale hands not too dissimilar to her own, though hers had black mark like lines tattooed on them.

“With cut, a mingling of blood, you become brother, your bond for life, one destined for strife.”

Merrin then dug the edge into the Titan’s flesh, making a tiny pool of red rise near his ring finger. She then made a similar cut on her own.

“The rite done.. husband.”

The Titan’s eyes became stirred, enlarging.

“Hu.. Husband?!”

Merrin nodded.

“A Nightsister can only be wed to a Nightbrother, you are the only one in this temple.”

Tormentum rested his head against the trunk, his head swirling less from the prick or magick, and more from this news.

Merrin placed her hand on his wrist.

“You must obey the will of your Sister of the Night.”

The Peon looked at Merrin and tried to hold back a laugh.

“Well.. that was fast. I thought I had some time before being tied down in matrimony.”

Merrin persed her obsidian lips.

“The formal ceremony will be in a fortnight. On the eve of a Full Moon. But we are bound to one another now.”

Tormentum looked at the circle of blood on his hand, it had formed a red ring around his ring finger.

“So be it Milady.”
