Lit The One Canon

I have a question about the One Canon, something that does interest me. If Ben Solo exists in the same timeline as the other Solo children, what were his relationships with his siblings like? Sinre's narrative mentioned that Ben was isolated from his family, but he must have still interacted with his brothers and sister so I am curious what their potential dynamics may have been like.

 

I guess Ben's age gap to his siblings alienated him from them a bit further even in addition to being away most of the time or with parents when they were on Anoth base and sent away alternating between which kids were home. As a kid Ben witnessed different events than his siblings and that shaped him quite a lot as well. His parents and uncle met with different people than later on and thus he may have had different ties that he saw shattered or separated by circumstance as their parents friends and coworker circles changed with time too.

Talentwise, Ben may have shared interests with them all. Flying, tinkering with tech, etc. at least with Jaina and Anakin, less so Jacen's diplomatic nature loving side probably, but with him he shared the delusions of Jedi grandeur and wishing to have a lightsaber of his own.

I still wonder about Ben's peers and friends or surroundings at least, sure he was a loner, always on the move with adults, but where his siblings connected to their classmates in the Jedi Praxeum, he never did much to his. Did he envy them making friends? Or being able to? What did he think when they snuck away to explore Coruscants underworld? Was he too afraid to do the same on his own without peers? Or rather too correct to attempt it, wanting to be the little rolemodel Chosen One Luke claimed he might be? Too taken with the role he failed to fit into?

I wonder if he knew about Anakin's fear of Palpatine and the nightmares/visions of Palpatine living on in a Solo kid after all? What would he have done or thought? Did he tell Anakin maybe about his own imaginary friend Snoke, who turned out to be quite real before his parents forbid to see him again with Luke? Did Anakin fear such a scenario for himself and his imaginary voices in his head because Ben told him?

I can see him relate most to Anakin, for the twins were mostly selfcentered and rotating around each other despite their opposites. Anakin was likewise removed from them when rotating Anoth base and with JJK rather than YJK classes. So Ben and Anakin might have been even long before that closer.

It'd be helpful to do a comparision timeline between canon, legends and onecanon with important dates on each paralel to each other so one would not mix up stuff in the head always. Anybody up for such an Excell sheet with rough dates to see which characters and major events correlate or are shifted around?

 

What is the age difference between him and the twins again?

 

Here is a crazy idea:

One original idea for TFA entailed a Darth Talon character flirting a Jedi student, Ben Solo, to the Dark Side. Back when TFA's backstory was still the main movie story and not just backdrop, with the fall of the Jedi actually shown on screen.

Now that reminds me an awful lot at an upcoming unproduced Legends story: Sithy Vestara Khai flirting Ben Skywalker to the dark side maybe briefly? Or at least trying and in their on and off relationship she got pregnant at least maybe. Likewise, the Darth Talon / Cade Skywalker romance and the entire Kol and Cade story from Legacy comics could easily also have been taken place between Luke, Ben and the One Sith much earlier. Cade reminds me of Ben, had he lost Luke to a Sith attack on the Praxeum likewise etc. Intentional? Maybe!

So, after this story archeology and concept stage paralells, theoretically, there might have been a time when the ST almost happened in Legends, staring Ben Skywalker and his stint with the Dark Side thx to Vestara? I am not saying abandoned Legends ideas influenced either Legacy comics or the ST planning, though it would be interesting there is not enough proof, merely speculation.

But for One Canon purposes, one could maybe rework the ST story with Ben Skywalker as Kylo Ren set after Crucible and before the Legacy comics. Jaina is too old to be Rey then, and some ST ideas obviously would have to go, or rather be reworked with other concept ideas instead. Maybe Allana could play a part and Jacen's vision about her. Respectively, if Taa chume ever had a fling with Palpatine, then Tenel Ka is Palpatines granddaughter and Allana his greatgranddaughter, to keep that storypoint somehow involved.

Ben Skywalker, while firmly in the light so far, was rather dark with his ideas to Jacen regarding Kashyyyk in LOTF! And went unpunished for them. Ben Skywalker also learned flowwalking, and Ben Skywalker loves a Sith girl. He was party to all the Jedi and Sith cooperations regarding Abeloth and to Jacen's philosophy and training in lineage from Vergere's teachings. While firmly a Jedi, he subconsciously has been trained and taught a lot that might warrant exploration of the dark side or a balanced approach. And even the most firm Jedi like him can fall. So he is predestined for his own brush with the dark side kinda especially since he believes that he wouldn't after what he experienced with Jacen's fall.

Shifting this Concept ST in the Legends timeline from a Solo to a Skywalker also fits the saga narrative and frees some Solo characters from otherwise problematic cameos or involvement. Have Ben Skywalker as Kylo Ren kill Luke in TFA's end and Allana seeks not Luke on Ach-To but maybe guidance from a Force Ghost of Anakin Skywalker. The story needn't shift too much and works the same then. Anakin reluctant to teach her but ultimately agreeing. Anakin needing to be convinced to meddle in the affairs of the living as a Force Ghost can do.. so Allana convinces him to do the Crait stunt and surprise everyone as Anakin Skywalker as a Force Ghost acts as if back in the flash briefly to stall the enemy.
Snoke can be Krayt revealed to merely be a puppet for White Eyes who is revealed to be actually Palpatine back from the dead again. Cue Allana the heir of Palpatine and Skywalker-Solo lineages facing him down the line and Ben Skywalker being redeemed. (But no Dyad lovey couple... merely a Dyad maybe).

 

Does anyone have any thoughts on Lando's exile on Pasaana and how that interfaces with his presence in the post-NJO storyline? In Canon, it seems to be implied that Lando remained on Pasaana for the ~15 or so years between him and Luke travelling there and the events of TROS.

 

same way Kenobi watching over Luke was supposed to be uninterrupted but the Kenobi show will change that status quo most likley

Lando probably got around but always returned hoping to find clues for his lost kid.

 

In that regard his wife from Last Shot and Tendra... any reconsiliation?

Lando Junior might have gotten a sexchange because he wanted always to be a daughter.

You know my headcanon about Chance, don't you? Chance being short for Chancelor Calrissian..

so if lil Chance disliked being called Chance and instead wanted to be Lor Calrissian, as short for Loretta Calrissian or such we are fine!

 

Why do I suddendly think the Second Imperium stealing forcesensitive Children coincides with the First Order doing the same with not Forcesensitives.

 

It also ties in, via TCW (and probably earlier stuff as well), with the notion that the fake Palpatine running the show may not have been so fake after all.

 

So what exactly are the dates for the post-Endor content in the One Canon? I know there's the timeline on the first page, but it doesn't include the exact years of when a lot of it takes place. Was that ever decided on? I just want to know for reference, since Sinrebirth's games Duel of the Fates and The Hidden Temple take place in the One Canon.

 

Admittedly that does make Barriss even older than I thought...

 

Yeah. And I put Barriss' birth date in this at around 38 BBY, slightly younger than her Legends counterpart so that she's closer in she to Ahsoka. But I don't think Barriss is too much older than I originally had her, so it's not really an issue.

 

I've got a pretty comprehensive list, usually doodled in the margins of the Rebel Alliance Sourcebook, Imperial Sourcebook and so on, for Rebel and Imperial fleets, plus rosters, etc. Rebel navy pre Yavin is surely dozens of ships, if not nearly a hundred or so (counting everything from Gallofrees to Home One style ships) and has about a dozen MC80s, too. Could be more ships in reserve - though we see the Legends battle of Kamino in TFU2 is costly, especially in corvettes! I saw a dozen or more wrecked out of the window of the Salvation as it began re-entry, for one thing.

Mon Cal ships include Independence, Liberty, Maria, Defiance, Excelsior, Cathleen, Autonomy (Rebellion and EaW) Solidarity (TFU2 novel) and Profundity (Rogue One) plus maybe Aspiration, a sister ship. Later we see the Home One, Champion, Nautillian (Aftermath trilogy references) Lutdze, Reef Home, Tano (any relation?) Yali, Wavesong and more.
Most are likely Liberty-type, some are MC75s, and some are Home Ones. By around Hoth in the X-Wing games, each runs with four or more escort ships, including often a light cruiser (MC40) or a Bulk cruiser, and sometimes has up to six transports, in place of two. Numbers can easily creep past 400 ships just based on the number of Mon Cals.

 

It would be really interesting to set up a OneCanon whereas Legends "An Apology" April Fools piece is actually canon to Legends and merge this Legends then with Disney canon.

At least it'd totally change the perspective regarding Luuke on Ach-To and Kylo turning on him once he figured out that he is not Luke. And we could have Thrawn setting up Luuke as bait for Palpatine. And even if sad for Luke, his early demise would cement Leia as the next in line as Chosen One and her hope and neccessitate another generation and trilogy to end things without having Luke in Exile or sitting around as that was then Luuke and on purpose for something.

 

Wait a sec... if the Aftermath trilogy and The Mandalorian happened after Dark Empire in the One Canon, does that mean Boba Fett fell into the sarlacc put AGAIN?! How many times is that now?

 

That Sarlacc has it out for him. At this rate, he'll go all Captain Ahab on it. XD

 

I think moving the post-Endor canon stuff to after Dark Empire causes more problems than it solves.
