This is not easy. A few of them have really shined, and there are a lot of "honorable mentions".

Should I change it to allow two choices? I'm feeling a bit stuck too, actually.

The fact that some have directed several good episodes and others have directed one great one makes things more difficult, I think.

Edit: Now allowed up to two choices.

I would have gone with Chow or Fumuyiwa, even Filoni and then...Reed pulls out that last episode of The Mandalorian and because of that, I cannot vote anyone else. In my opinion, chapter 16 is up there with A New Hope in terms of iconicness in Star Wars, he absolutely blew it out of the park.

I labored a bit but had to go with Famuyiwa. But it really is a case of 1A, 1B, 1C etc.

    Gotta be Rick.

    Followed very closely by Chow.

These two are incredible directors that deserve to have a major hand in shaping the future of Star Wars.

My first vote went to Dave Filoni, because "The Jedi" is one of my favorite Star Wars _________ ever, and you can fill in the blank with any of these words: "episodes, stories, pieces of content, creations" or add your own words to make it funny. And I actually really liked "The Gunslinger" too, even if it doesn't go near the top of my list when it comes to live action TV episodes.

My second vote goes to Taika Waititi, because "Redemption" is the only episode out of all listed, that feels like it's a movie and a cinematic experience in the theater. That one is also not one of my favorite episodes out of this list, but it's the one where I feel the director made the most and then some, of the content/story provided.

Honorable mention to Peyton Reed for "The Rescue" but also for "The Passenger" which I loved since the first viewing, and Deborah Chow for two VERY solid episodes.

There is no episode out of the 19 listed that I really didn't like. The one I liked the least was "The Prisoner" which felt amateurish to me in various times. It actually felt like josswhedonic cinema, which is even worse than amateurish. Too bad, because "The Child" was phenomenal.

Filoni and Rodriguez. "The Jedi" is my favorite live action Star Wars since ROTS. The Rodriguez episodes I just found really entertaining.

Agreed. It's much easier to pick who I don't like. Rodriguez is definitely at the bottom of the list. Bryce would be next, but her second episode was a big improvement.

The single best episodes are "The Jedi" and "The Tribes Of Tatooine". But, I'm reluctant to say Steph Green after only one episode. I need to see more. Filoni has done well for himself, but I can't rate him higher than the others.

Rick, Deborah, Jon, Peyton, Taika...all did great.

So it's decided. The answer is a solid "Anybody but Rodriguez ".

For me Episode 2 of Book of Boba Fett is the best live action episode yet, so Green would have been an obvious choice. But Famuyiwa directed my two favourite Mando episodes with The Prisoner and The Believer and I didn't even know that, until I looked at the list in the first post. So number one gotta be him.

But I dope Green gets more Star Wars work, that episode was really good.

You can choose two if you want. If you're a poll purist though, I understand.

I only read the first post before voting and wasn't aware of that at that point. Might change my vote and vote Green too, she just got one vote so far and I do think she did a fantastic job, especially for a basically no-name director.

Based on the episodes alone, Filoni. I could easily vote for a few of them of them though but I just really loved the stylistic choices in his episode.
