Anthony Ingruber as Indiana Jones

There's a big rumor making the rounds that Harrison Ford lookalike Anthony Ingruber is in Indy 5. I was disappointed that he wasn't cast as Han Solo. could he be the future of Indiana Jones?

 

Good Lord, no.

 

If someone wants to pay for a few years of acting lessons for the guy, sure, knock yourself out.

Doppleganger status isn't even close to being enough. Alden's a zillion times better a choice for Han than this dude would've been.

He is. Dude just looks 99% like Harrison so fanboys go irrational bananaballs over him. It's pre-Solo movie all over again.

 

Found a video of him doing a Han Solo impression on YouTube. He really does look like a young Harrison Ford.

 

Yeah, but looks aren’t enough, and being able to do a impersonation isn’t enough, either. He has to be able to act, to embue the character with life and personality. If he’s just doing an impersonation of Ford, then we’d just get Xerox Jones.

 

True, but from what I've seen, he's no worse than Alden Ihcantacht...err...Ehrenreich.

 

This. There's a lot going on in Ford's portrayal of Jones. I just don't want a pale copycat. If you're gonna go different, just get Pratt or someone like that.. Any decent actor stepping into a role will tell you that they have to make it their own.

 

Eww, Pratt. He's already Super Mario, don't lay some second darksidey Exegol curse on us.

But yeah, actors certainly have to make it their own. Still, when it comes to Indy, I just say end it with the Mangold movie (in live-action form at least). Don't want anyone as adult Indy, personally - not sure why it's any different to Han, but somehow it is. Alden shouldn't play OT-era Han either, great as he is. Leave a decade of space in-timeline with the portrayals.

 

Oh God! Please no! I don't want to go through that again. I'm already relieved that Alden Ehrenreich (who I believe is a superb actor) had been cast as the younger Han in "Solo". I don't need or really want Ingruber as a young Indiana Jones.

 

Not that I have a vested interest in Indiana Jones but apparently the Ingruber crowd hasn't figured out that all this dude can do is imitate.

 

I can do a pretty good Swedish Chef & Kermit. Let me take over their puppeteer jobs when their peeps retire.

Virtually anyone can learn how to act (with the possible exception of Alden Ehrenreich).

Sounded to me like Blue Yogurt was intimating that he did not care for Alden. I was trying to say that I liked Alden because he was NOT trying to imitate Harrison. Does that clear it up any?

He was in that one sucky movie with Harrison in which he mightily suckethed, too. Give the main his fair due.

 

I liked Age of Adaline.

 

In the absence of a time machine I thought he was good too.
