Miraluka are cool too.
I forget, do they appear in any of the movies or in TCW cartoons?

 

I theorize Chirrut Imwe may be one.

 

That's interesting. Never occurred to me he could be Miralukan.

Edit: was just looking and it appears Chirrut's status is unresolved as to whether he is Miralukan or not.

He may just be blind, but force sensitive, or just incredibly aware due to his constant meditating.

 

The fact he can so see in the Force to shoot enemies almost confirms it to me.

 

Is it possible he has just trained himself to be acutely aware of his surroundings?

I assumed he was force sensitive, but has that been officially confirmed? I can't recall.

 

I can’t find anything official. SW.com says he’s “deeply spiritual.. but unable to use Force abilities.”

 

That's pretty intense how brilliant of a combatant he is considering he is blind and perhaps not even force sensitive!

On Miraluka: I enjoyed Chirrut very, very much, especially that 'lucky' shot he made. The Force was indeed with him, however, he is not a Miraluka. As someone who has Role Played Miraluka in the past, I feel I must share the following: The Miraluka species have 'no eyes', meaning, their eye sockets are 'empty', that's why they usually wear some kind of eye covering ( blindfolds, etc ) as not to unnerve or disturb others to their unusual visage. Chirrut has eyes and is 'merely blind'. Also, they are almost always 'force sensitive', since they require the force to 'see'.

(Note: I'm a big Donnie Yen fan, so it was a delight to see him in a SW movie )

Glad that you tested negative. Here's hoping all else goes well.

 

Hmm, that seems weird. Why would your species have eye sockets but no eyes? And why cover them up with a blindfold if no one else in your society can see them anyway?

 

That's all part of the process for all content creators. Quite fascinating really. Do I make something that makes sense 'in world' or relatable to my humanocentric audience?

Why do bi-pedal robots have their controls in their 'heads'? Why are they bi-pedal in the first place? Etc, etc.

No doubt there is an encyclopedia of rationales for this, but one could guess ( for the Miraluka ) the blindfolds are for when interacting with others outside of their species, not among themselves, especially since their home planet was destroyed and they are now living a wonderful diaspora ( *sarcasm ) as they are scattered among other civilizations.

Born without eyes, reminds me of the fish in the pools of dark caves who after generations have no eyes.
