I'd meant to come on here and add Max Rebo, yes. And Cody and Rex.

That was the word on the street/playground back in the day. That OB-1 was a clone of Jedi Knight Ben Kenobi.

What’s the name of the mostly bald rebel general with the big mustache? And why does he appear to be asleep during the medal ceremony? His eyes are closed in both shots where you can see his face.

He probably was napping. :) It was either a long day of shooting (real life explanation), or his character was so stressed out by the events of the last day or so, he just passed out exhausted.

Was Luke's X-Wing supposed to be the same one throughout the films? I'm sure someone has taken the time to compare the individual markings of the models and determine if it was intended to be the same ship. The reason I ask is because some of the EU stories have Luke's X-Wing being destroyed, and I want to know how well that concept aligns with the movies. Also, I would assume that his Empire Strikes Back fighter was impounded on Cloud City and he had a new one for Return of the Jedi.

So I've always wondered: what exactly, in-universe, is the critter to the left of the dewback here?

It looks kinda like someone left their bantha in a bad part of town, and OOU I'm pretty sure that's basically what it is, but I'm curious if anything's ever nodded to it in-universe.

The canon page for banthas does talk about a bantha outside the Cantina:

    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Bantha

The bantha tied up outside the Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina exteriors filmed in Ajim, Djerba, Tunisia on April 23, 1976 was an over-sized prop for two crew members with rudimentary controls for movement. As he was wont to do, Mark Hamill asked and received permission from the prop crew to climb inside it with a small flashlight. The head was moved up and down with a crowbar handle held in both hands, and a way to swish the tail about. The interior surface was papier-mâché, including a complete newspaper review reportedly titled "David Bowie live in Paris" oriented sideways, which Hamill ended up reading in its entirety.[31]

Perhaps, in the Legends-verse, it would be considered a dwarf bantha?

    Here is a random question…

there are a lot of character coincidences in the ot. I am meaning things like chewie helping in the clone wars or the fact that c3po is Anakin’s droids. Is that coincidence? Or the force? Another example is Ackbars involvement in the clone wars.

I think neither. Yes those "coincidences" make the SWU to be awfully small at times, but I chalk their involvement to be random chance encounters related to Chewy and Ackbar's individual stories.

I might be misremembering this, but was it mentioned that Tauntauns were from off-world in Empire Strikes Back? Might have been in a supplemental source or conjecture that I'm thinking of, but the fact that they could not survive in Hoth's temperature after sunset seems to indicate that they were not native to the planet.

Perhaps not super important, but it brings into question canon of one of the old Star Wars comic strips "The Ice Planet" where Tauntauns are undoubtedly shown to be natives to the planet before the Rebels arrived.

    That's a jerba
    https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Jerba/Legends

I can't find a bantha outside of the cantina. I feel like they may have been mistaking that for a dewback or jerba. Banthas were costumed elephants and not puppets (I don't recall them creating a separate puppet for a stationary bantha). The movement described in the article seems to line up with how the dewback moved in that scene originally (just the head bobbing).

Also, it would be absolutely wild to find that newspaper article in question. I know Star Wars fans are crazy enough.

They're usually portrayed as taking shelter under the ice at night. The presence of the macropredatory wampas fits with tauntauns being native - wampas seem to specialise in large prey, and without tauntauns, what would they eat? It seems pretty clear that the rebels didn't import the wampas.

I think you're right. I might be misremembering because the snowspeeders had to be adapted to Hoth, and that might have been confused with Tauntauns

According to The Illustrated Star Wars Universe, which I recently reread, tauntauns are explicitly native to Hoth. It's not impossible that some other secondary source said differently, but I'd be surprised.

This is really random, but: which OT film has the most wipes (y'know, the characteristic Lucas ones)? And is there a list of them all anywhere?

(I wouldn't mind a list for all of Star Wars, actually - including non-Lucas stuff - but that's a much bigger ask.)

Luke can interact with Obi-Wan's Force ghost. Luke can interact with Yoda's Force ghost. Luke has seen both of them along with Anakin's Force ghost.

So, has it ever been suggested, implied, seen, and/or heard of Luke interacting with Anakin's Force ghost?

If so, in which medium? (novel, comic, etc)
    If not, why not?

In Legends, the classic Marvel comics series had Luke talk to Anakin's (and Obi-Wan's) ghosts after ROTJ "in dreams" rather than awake.

In newcanon, Luke has a conversation with Anakin's force ghost in the Shadow of the Sith novel. It switches from the "old man" look, to "young man" at one point.

    Ah, okay, thank you.

It just seems like one of those over-looked opportunities that they never really considered. All the drama of believing that his father could still be redeemed and Luke does so and yet, he never seems to follow up by talking to his Force ghost. Wouldn't Luke want to know something of his father from his own point of view? ;)

This is something I always found a little strange. I know SW isn't science, not even close, but it does make sense to apply actual science to some aspects of the story.
So we have this technically vastly advanced (compared to Earth) civilization that can build space stations the size of a small country on Earth, negate the limits of faster than light travel, yet haven't found a way to protect against the climate of a cold planet? Yes, I do know that snowspeeders are airplanes rather than spaceships. But does that matter much technically?
According to Wikipedia (and other sources):
No problem at all insulating spaceships from such extreme temperatures. So why not snowspeeders or clothing as well? Yeah, the Rebels were fugitives, didn't have the latest technology or money etc. But those things seem pretty basic to me.
