Mini Series Obi-Wan Kenobi - Part 3 - Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

What if Palpatine wants Vader to bring Kenobi before him, so that Vader can be cured of his bond to his old Master by a Sith ritual or something? That the Emperor knows his Apprentice needs to confront Kenobi to become the Machine, Twisted and Evil.

 

Of course not. If he does, it recons the entire OT.

That’s a good layer! Though his Castle is on Mustafar.. so.

 

Maybe he is trying to conquer his fear

 

So if he is dead, then who is the GI in Rebels? A different Pau'an?

 

Indeed, plus on Mustafar he is safe from the lava, but there the fire could have burned him. Still Vader could have reached out and snapped the droid’s circuits, and he didn’t.

 

I think so. Jason Isaacs has a different voice and mannerisms than GI in this series. Would make sense.

 

YOUR PAIN HAS JUST BEGUN!

 

I can't watch this until I finish work, but am I happy to read all these positive comments about my boy Vader and how much of a beast he is in this episode apparently.

However, I have 1 question:

According to the leaked episode descriptions, wasn't Obi-Wan & Vader's first confrontation supposed to happen in ep.4 and then their second encounter in ep.6?

This seems to throw all predictions for the next 3 episodes off the wall. And I am hyped!

 

Caught that and muttered “Obi Wan has taught you well” in about as good a Vader voice I can do at 2am.

 

I love everything about this except the production value in that showdown. I know, I know - it's TV, not film. But I would have thought they would have worked around the medium's limitations to make sure that scene above all looked incredible. I enjoyed it, but I can't lie - I didn't like the way it looked at all.

I'm enjoying the Padmé references and the acknowledgment that Leia knows she's adopted and not the Organas' biological daughter. As she says in ROTJ, she's always known there was more of her blood out there. Her force sensitivity has been explored perfectly, too. It reminds me of a deleted scene from ROTS where Obi-Wan quipped to Padmé that she should be a Jedi for how intuitive she was.

Also, I think thus far the Inquistor storyline is tracking along nicely. It's obvious Reva is going to go way above her paygrade and end up facing the consequences for it. The Pau'an will likely resurface just in time for that, and Reva could be made into something of a cautionary tale that he and Vader will refer to to keep all the other Inquistors in line.

 

Best episode yet.

I love the moleman (I think his name was fred)

Seeing friendly stormtroopers was both weird and great. (i want a sitcom set on that planet now)

Obi-Wan was perfect with Leia this episode. His explanation of the force especially.

Seeing the fortress inquisitorius was incredible.

And what's his name again? Oh yeah, Darth Vader.

Also him burning obi-wan was painful but kinda beautiful in a way. (actually this sentence makes me sound kinda like a pyromaniac)

 

Vader said the position is open, that Reva can claim it if she’s up to the task. The other Inquisitor wants the position too. I say GI is dead.

Were they female? At first it sounded like it, but then I couldn't tell.
