Mini Series Obi-Wan Kenobi - Part 4 - Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

To me it just felt as though the episode is there to show that Obi is starting to get his ***t together finally.
Nothing else of consequence actually happens

 

They made a similar mistake in Mando imo, keeping his backstory secret until the end, when having that info could have made all his mysterious-cpyher scenes that came before more interesting. This problem feels endemic in tv after LOST employed flashbacks on an industrial scale. Writers used to understand that characters-with-a-secret work better in movies than tv.

 

Completely agree on that.

This is the KENOBI show. All the people who are complaining about Reva stealing the spotlight from Kenobi (and are so far incorrect), will have a very solid argument if that happens. If this show reveals background, plot twists and character development for Reva all in the last episode, the gravitas of Kenobi and Vader's role in this will obviously be diminished.

The reliable leaker thinks that Ep 5 will provide Reva's background and also be a very short episode. He also says it's supposed to be one of the best episodes.

For me the main issue with her is knowing about Anakin being Vader..
And there really is only one way she could’ve learnt that . A ‘way’ which fans have already figured out.
She witnessed Master Skywalker slaying Jedi and being called Lord Vader by Clone Troopers during the Temple
massacre. I cannot envisage there being any other way.
As for the true motivation/intent of her character? It’s not a reveal I’m especially excited for

 

I didn't recognize Tera Sinube the first time I watched the fourth episode. But I did the second time. I believe that was because I was so accustomed to him being in animation. However, now we know what was done with the bodies at the Jedi Temple after Operation Knightfall. It sucks.

 

It's possible they are preserving these "Jedi" for nefarious reasons.. Cloning experiments that were hinted in BB, Mando, etc.

 

In my mind the episode could really have done with an extra 15-20 mins of exposition.
Certainly on Jabiim and with O’Shea Jackson’s character.
And 100% on the Fort escape which is contrived and poorly executed

 

I think this is what they mean, I will wager $0.05 on that
I need to read more about Operation Knightfall. Somehow, it has escaped me.

I did that not realize that. Well, it's clear that Harold needed help, so here's hoping Stanton provided it.

 

No I didn’t know that. Has any light been shined on why it was decided to get Stanton involved with the penultimate episodes?

 

I thought Stanton did all of episode 6 but split writing with Harold on 5? They might have even agreed to that for the guild since some of the ideas Stanton would be picking up on cams from Harold. There’s weird stuff like that with the writer’s guild.

 

He sure did. Especially if Ep 4 is anything to go by.

 

I was kinda thinking there'd be blatant fan service with "Only one man can break in, Cal Ketis!!".

Anybody else notice that the key art for Part IV was totally just Vader and spoiled his appearance in the episode? Thanks, Disney plus!

 

I wonder if she might show up in Andor.

 

I would welcome it and love it.

 

Is it wrong to admit I’m looking forward more to Andor than I am the conclusion of Obi-Wan-Kenobi? Lol

 

Me too
