I just realized something....we are 2 pages in on a Wade thread...and there is not one for Reva.

Wade...a guy in only 1 episode > Reva.

Wade floated his T47 in the middle of an Imperial hanger bay to buy time for his friends to escape. He wanted to escape too, but he Waded too long.

Jokes aside - I have seen commented on many times before how often characters just seem to forget or ignore redshirt characters as soon as they are dead, even if the characters themselves should care a lot - ie Luke only having a brief look of sadness and then never mentioning his lifelong best friend Biggs or the aunt and uncle who raised him ever again.

So here we have people actually acting like human beings over the death of their friend* and people are baffled over it because the viewers aren't familiar with the character who died? I thought that was what was wanted. In any case, I thought it did a good job of reinforcing the incredible risks that this group is taking to aide Obi-Wan and Leia.

*Especially since, as pointed out in this episode repeatedly, these guys aren't soldiers and haven't had any training to accept the death of friends as an inevitability in their line of work.

I think wade has become a meme because the show tries and fails to make his death, emotional. We don't know the character so, all the time showing characters give sad faces, just feels comical. Imagine if wedge was killed in ROTJ. Wedge was super minor, but because he was always present in space battles, the audience would feel a sense of loss if he was killed. Wade, was some guy, then he died and everyone but the audience looked sad. Imagine we see commander cody killed after just a few lines between him and obi wan. Even that would hold more emotional weight since we actually saw Cody be a human on screen.

You're forgetting that we should feel sad because he was super important to a bunch of other characters that we don't know or care about.
