The Broccolis have made it very clear that James Bond will always be a male character, however, the title of being 007 can switch off between male and female characters. I actually thought for a long time a great trilogy would be have M being 007 as a young spy and then once she gets promoted to be the head of MI6 she goes out and recruits her replacement...a hard drinking British Naval guy who is a orphan and knows how to fight, James Bond.

@SithLordDarthRichie That rumor was started by a bunch of white misogynists with small "fill in the blanks" and I think has been pretty strongly debunked including the director obviously. The other rumor though looks to be pretty accurate so far especially considering the title and what we saw in the trailer.

I am getting a vibe similar to the Kevin Smith / Masters of the Universe fiasco from last year.

It is probably best just to stay quiet and let the film speak for itself.

I hope the de-aging stuff is just for the prologue and that we're not going to be forced to sit through multiple sequences with Uncanny Valley Ford.

From what I've gathered the de-aged Indy is for the prologue, set during WW2.

 

I'm all in on Indy 5. Mangold is a terrific genre director, plus Ford already starred in a masterpiece of a legacy sequel (I'm referring to Blade Runner 2049, silly goose, not that other one...).

 

Watching the trailer again, Indy looks younger in the desert small car chasing scene. So maybe not a prologue, but time traveling? Maybe I'm just imagining that, as Bridge seems to be in that chase scene as well.

 

De-aging technology is a sliding scale, so he’ll be in his 30’s-40’s when he fights the nazis, and in his 50’s-60’s when he complains about rock n roll. Every age is achievable by ILM at this point.

And before anyone complains that the technique is inappropriate, remember that the franchise already pioneered this effect only in reverse:

And everyone was proven wrong in certain aspects.

 

I do think Smith should have kept his mouth shut and let the show speak for itself, but most of the outrage was still stupid.
