Vader does use the Force in Rogue One, and his lightsaber. Then there's the blind Guardian of the Whills, Chirrut - not a Jedi, but someone who nevertheless still seems to use the Force - just more subtly than Vader - for sensing, primarily.

indeed, and the bit almost everyone remembers. That should tell you something.

TROS: Exegol wasn't a sand planet (at least it's a positive)

TPM: The pod race. It really is an excellent piece of cinema. William’s score for the flag parade, the editing, the sound design, they’re are all top notch. Even though you can guess the outcome they still managed to make it thrilling.

AOTC: There’s a shot of Anakin talking to a Jawa that’s beautifully framed with a really nice copper toned palette.

To be fair, it's heavily inspired by Miklos Rosza's score from Ben Hur. As is the rest of the scene.

Yeah it’s highly derivative of Ben-Hur. But as cover versions go, it’s up there with Jimmy’s All Along the Watchtower.

TFA: The Force awakening in Finn. Luke Skywalker’s legend looming large over the entire movie.

TLJ: Crotchety Old Master Luke once he began teaching Rey. The Rashomon Sequence. Seeing the apprentice overthrow the master. Rey misinterpreting her vision of Ben Solo. Luke’s last stand on Crait.

TROS: The 90’s Dark Horse Comics vibe for Darth Sidious. Leia completing Rey’s training. The Luke & Leia flashback. Ben Solo using ST style lightsaber choreo. Leia using the last of her life energy to be like…

It wasn't? I mean, don't get me wrong, it wasn't Jakku, Tatooine or Geonosis, but I thought it was a wasteland of sand flats and mountains. The constant darkness and thunderstorms lent the sand a nice blue color but I'm pretty sure it was still sand?

TFA: It's entertaining. In its own shallow way, at least.
TLJ: It's original. In its own twisted way, at least.
TROS: It's colourful. Yes, that's it.

ROTJ: It's got George Lucas' fingerfrints on it, which makes it infinitely better than the three above.

Its honestly more like Jedha, a city and holyplace thats on a Wasteland. And it makes sense why the sith planet, Exegol is on sand, its been so destroyed its devoid of life. Similar what happenned to many planets of life been turned to glass and sands. Just look at Mandalore, its covered in ash and sands.

TFA - Kylo Ren was a badass in this first movie, excluding his fight with Rey. The First Order also had this cultish feel to it that I really enjoyed.
TLJ - Cinematography was on point, probably the best in the saga. The dialogue was also extremely well written in places.
TROS - Palpatine was as fun a villain as ever thanks to Ian McDiarmid's performance. The Final Order also had an even stronger cult aesthetic going for it - wonder if Abrams wanted to really go all in on that for the trilogy.

Rose Byrne is in Attack of the Clones. Like, I know it now, but I didn't realize it until some months ago, as she was so young that I didn't even recognize her. And it's something positive for me, because I love her, both as an actress and as a person.

Well, I actually like Attack of the Clones, even though it's my less favourite of the PT. Therefore it's not a movie I'm totally not fond of. But still.

The Force Awakens: I loved Maz's castle. It feels ancient and has a lived-in quality. I liked the design of Kylo Ren and his emotional conflict. Fin, a Stormtrooper turned hero, was also great in concept.

    The Last Jedi:
I loved the design of Ahch-To. Ireland is such a beautiful country. And when he wasn't being bitter and Jaded, Luke's lessons were captivating.

The Rise of Skywalker: It is the least derivative of the sequels. I also liked Babu Frik and seeing Wicket again, even if it was only for several seconds.

TFA: Darth Maul was cool, and his fight w/Obi-Wan was incredible.
AOTC: Opening scene with the shiny Naboo craft flying through the clouds.

TFA: That first flight in the Falcon with Rey and Finn was fun.

TLJ: ….ummmm….hmm. I like that Johnson added a score-only track to the Blu-ray.

TROS: I like that it was shot in film. The best looking of the three.

RO: Made the Death Star genuinely terrifying. That’s part of the reason I don’t like it, also.

Solo: I thought Alden Ehrenreich did a great job. I would’ve liked to have seen where that series could have gone if it had been received better.

I like the red-eyed sand monster in TFA. And it is a rather good-looking film, even if it doesn't offer anything particularly strange or exotic.
