While some of our users prefer to limit their posting to one forum, there’s nothing wrong with a little exploring to see what else the JC has to offer! However, each forum has it own unique community, atmosphere, and regulations. The list below includes a few things to keep in mind, should you choose to forum hop.

    1. MEET THE FORUM AND TEST THE WATERS
Before starting any threads, try replying to existing threads so you'll feel more comfortable the other people here, and so they can get to know you!

    2. LEARN ABOUT EXISTING TOPICS
Before posting in any forum, read up on a few of the newer topics so you won't post anything that has already been posted. You should also consider searching back a few pages as well to check for discussions that might have fallen off the first page, but aren’t yet locked.

    3. CHECK THE FORUM INDEX
Another useful way to ensure your topic hasn’t already been discussed is the “forum index.” Not all forums have an index, but you’ll find it’s a invaluable resource in forums that do. Indexes are updated by a moderator or designated user and they include popular topics/threads. Before posting a thread, check the forum index. Chances are that there is already a thread in existence on your topic. If you can, post there first.

    4. READ THE FEEDBACK
Check your thread often to see what people have said. This will help you when you post future topics so you know where each belongs (if you’ve accidentally posted in the wrong forum), as other members will help. If you make a thread in the wrong forum, you can PM a moderator to see if they will move your thread to the appropriate forum.

    5. POSTING REDUNDANT TOPICS
If you post a redundant, over-discussed topic, don't despair. The other members will most likely post links to existing topics. Post there.

    6. NO FLAMING ALLOWED
If you post a redundant topic, and it seems that a senior member is coming on a little hard, don't start insulting them. If you do get angry, you'll most likely wind up getting a warning or ban from the forum moderator. Remember, they are just trying to help.

    7. ASK A MODERATOR IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS
The forum mods are a great resource! If you have never visited a particular forum before and you have a question about forum-specific policies, what topics have been discussed lately, etc., just send a PM to the mod(s). They know their forums well and will be happy to help you.
