Brilliant. Was Sunber intended to be Tank all along? If so, that's even better. They got us to like the character *before* introducing him as Luke's long-lost friend. I love it.

It was very well-done. I didn't realize at first that Sunber was Tank but it's nice to be surprised. The "friend" monologue was well-done and I agree, they really established Tank before revealing who he was.

 

Yep -- that was that plan all along, going back to way to even before we had Hartley write To the Last Man. That Randy, he's a crafty one.

And once again.. proving Dark Horse is in touch with the Fanbo.. err Fanbase even if all we said was: We want more Tank.. and noone even saw it coming..

 

As with Yoda clambering up onto the ol' Wook's shoulder, this is one of those cool-as-Hoth moments we never realised we wanted to see so badly. Tank! *Huzzah!*

 

I haven't read it yet but...this is embarassing... who is Tank?

 

Tank was a friend of Luke's mentioned in ANH during the scene where Luke has an arguement with his Ungle about leaving the farm in order to join the academy.

I believe the ANH quote was "That's what you said when Biggs and Tank left!"

 

...And gee, Luke really got the short end when it came to nicknames:

Janek Sunber = Tank
Biggs Darklighter = Biggs
Laze Loneozner = Fixer

and

Luke Skywalker = Wormie

That's even worse than his Dad's....

...kids on Tatooine are so cruel.

 

Very good comic book. I loved the Tank part. It really caught me off guard.

I just read the issue and I have to say it was the best issue of Empire I've read in ages. I was surprised at the attempted rape scene in a Star Wars comic but it was well handled.

 

I believe there was a radio drama done for TPM, 2ndQ, can you verify?

 

Yeah, the whole issue was more sexually suggestive than I think I've ever seen in an SW comic between that scene and the one between Deena and Roshuir
