I am hoping that we get a better idea of the level of control that the Sith have over the galaxy. Methinks that their hold may not be as powerful as they may think...

Nope. That honor goes to the unnamed woman in "Welcome to the Future...".

Huh, this does come out tomorrow. (Allegedly!) But I'm in no hurry for this one. (Stormtroopers? Meh.)

Probably won't go to the comic store until Friday, unless we get some kind of shocker spoilers on the level of blue-ghostie-Luke...

    I've got it.

It's interesting. I haven't fully digested it yet. Long hard slog of a battle, family issues, and a Mando who looks vaguely like an anime character. Sith v Loyalists, obviously. Some of Fel's reinforcements get punked.

I picked it up during my lunch break. At first I was kind of disspointed when I realized it was only about Stormies but it was definetly a good read. The main plot follows one of the "noobs" and his first mission with his squad. They go after some Stormtroopers who stayed loyal to Emperor Fel, rather than joining the Sith Empire. Darth Maleval and his whip are pretty cool. He uses it like a normal whip and wraps his enemies up in it, then it shocks them. I wasn't quite sure if it was Sith Lightning or the whip itself was shocking them. I'm going to have to take a closer look after work. Darth Maleval bites it though when he orders one of his men to kill his own brother (who was a traitor to the Sith). When he refuses Maleval goes to kill them both and the rest of the troopers open fire and kill him.

The Hondo guy in the preview - "possibly ex-Mando".

That has to be the Tallest Quarren Ever, I gotta say. But pretty awesome - lightwhip thingie plus lightsaber. I don't like the art otherwise, but he looks awesome. He is also a bloodthirsty evil sort, but that's nothing new.

The Lieutenant's name is Gil Cassel (Gil!) - born and raised on Bastion. The Sith tells him to kill his brother (awesome scene with whip around neck like a leash)...

    Legacy 4# Review

The book is pretty much wall to wall action with no reference to the Cade Skywalker story. Instead, it's a "stormtrooper on the ground" perspective of the apparent on-going civil war between Roan Fel and Darth Krayt's factions. The story chronicles an Imperial Stormtrooper's son joining the Stormtrooper company of his father just as they move in to annihilate one of Roan Fel's faction strongholds.

The storyline is self-contained and pretty much ends with no chance of a sequel. It's interesting the way they chose to paint the Imperials in this tale as they are so utterly lacking in idealism. The fact that Darth Krayt is a usurper and has no legitimate claim to the throne never enters into the protagionists minds with their assumption being he's the 'legitimate' Emperor. On the other hand, they're a decent and nice enough bunch of folks with only their ignorance being frustrating.

It is noteworthy that despite Darth Krayt's pretensions to 'saving the galaxy' its interesting that Jan and Jon write the Sith as unbelievably bad people. Darth Maleval is a simple sadist and a bully whom orders a man to kill his own brother because of some vague desire for absolute obedience from his troops. In an age when people want to question the Dark side, it's nice to see there REALLY IS nothing redeemable about the Sith.

It's also good to see one more of Krayt's evil order get it.
