Elric with Stormbringer. I read one Elric book and liked it but I did not pursue them further. In one story Elric summons Stormbringer back from the banishment, and the sword brings a million of its demon-sword cousins with it to vanquish an enemy. Being a rpg stat geek I quickly figured out that this swarm of swords did approx 10 million points of damage per round. D20 fans? Anything that could stand up to that? I didn't think so.

The image itself is iconic for general cyberpunk handed down from Neuromancer; jacking into the Net/VR/Matrix via cybernetic brain implants.

 

Jasper Johns, Map.

This is the only Jasper Johns painting that I genuinely love. It takes the classic form of the map and allows the colors to bleed over each other. States are often different colors on maps like this, but here, those colors are not only unbelievably vibrant, they are basically leaking from state to state. some of Kansas' blue is leaking down into Oklahoma; a patch of Mexico's yellow has forced it's way into Texas; the ocean blue has broken over into Oregon; etc. I've seen this one in person when the MoMA sent it out as part of a traveling exhibition. The colors are even more vivid and bright in person.

Comes from THIS. Seems to like Transformers and SW.

 

Though cyberpunk projects a lot of dystopia much art for the genre looks more like The Matrix or Tron, very cyber, very techy, very computery. Off to the right in this pic is a good capture of a punk/boilerplate sort of ghetto. The bakcground holds a clean looking futuristic city, below the train may be an even worse sort of hell that portrayed on the right. Class separation, essentially.

 

When I was 21 I had this wonderful little rabbit that I absolutely adored. I only had him for a few months until one day I came home to discover my neighbor's cat had come into my backyard and killed him. I was absolutely heartbroken and my best friend being the amazing guy that he is, painted me a portrait of my little buddy so I could remember him. It currently hangs on my wall and is probably the only piece of orginal art I will ever own, ha. (My rabbit's back foot really did stick out like that. It had been broken some time when he was a baby and never healed properly.)

 

Hard to go wrong with Stella. A couple of my favorites.
