Sorry for the double post...but... ( Briannakin , mavjade , Mira_Jade , NYCitygurl ), are we allowed to write two stories for the same dare? I'm completely torn between two stories right now, but they're both for dare #1.

I think writing the same dare more than once would be fine since we are allowing for more than one dare to be written.

It's time for the THIRD and FINAL event of the Fan Fic Olympics!

This is an Alternate Ending challenge! Each team will work together to write a story that gives their assigned team an alternate ending:

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
NSWFF: The Hunger Games (the first one)

THE RULES

1. Your team must work together! When your story is done, one person will post the entry.

2. Your story should be between 2,000 and 10,000 words.

3. All stories must be posted by 11:59 p.m. PST on September 26 to be eligible.

4. You must use the movie your team has been assigned. NSWFF team, we chose a popular movie we figured most of you have seen; if not, it's pretty easy to find.

5. A panel of 5 judges will vote on the best story by October 2.

MEET THE JUDGES

Bardan_Jusik Bardan moderates the Expanded Universe Community, the Star Wars Community and helps out in Anthology. He enjoys long walks in the woods, playing with his kids and the smell of gunpowder in the morning.

A Chorus of Disapproval Mike is a moderator of all of the New Films forums. He is vegan, straight edge, a drummer and traded in a career as a comic book artist in exchange for ministry... and also to be a reggae DJ. Because, that's normal, right? He does not enjoy long walks on the beach because he is from Ireland and so being in the sun is as enjoyable for him as it would be for a vampire with eczema.

Skiara Skiara moderates WNU and FFC, loves sports, especially horse riding and dancing. Yep, she's a real girl. Beach sounds always like summer holidays for her - even if it's just a bit above 10 degrees Celsius. But she likes Vampire (the Masquerade) as well.

The Hellhammer The Hellhammer moderates the New Film Territories, relentlessly dispensing Imperial Justice among the wild and untamed Spoiler Regions. Being of inquisitive nature, he maintained the 7SA Interrogation Room thread (currently on hiatus), helping our posters get to know each other better, no matter how many limbs it took. He considers beaches to be an important strategic point in any large-scale invasion, best assaulted by a combination of all branches of the Imperial Military.

heels1785 Heels manages the Prequel Trilogy and JC Community boards. He enjoys honey mustard chicken wings. His dream is to be a high school football coach, and hopes to one day have a voice like Liev Schreiber.

Just so we're clear, what to the mods/judges defines an alternate ending, versus say a partial or total alternate telling of the movie in question? For example, are we to pick a certain point in the story and just change things up from there, either subtly or radically depending on where we'd like to go? Or can we insert inferences to things having gone differently earlier in the story? And finally, the mechanics of it; should we start from the point of departure or can we lead in with the last "unaltered" scene?

 

As far as I am concerned, heels1785 is a demigoat and he'll be a great judge, because he is one of the kindest people on the board.

Unfortunately, no one correctly guessed which mod wrote which Dare, so no extra points were handed out. Tarsier came the closest with 2 correct.

It is of course up to the team, but since it's Alternative Ending, the change should be in the back half of the movie. All the other things are up to the team and how they want to change/write the story.
