Wouldn't that be a violation of the Paramount Decrees, though?

DOJ filed a motion late last year to terminate the Paramount Decrees. The motion claims that studios no longer have the financial incentives to keep their competitor's films out of any theaters they might themselves own. Like if Disney owned AMC, the assumption is that keeping non-Disney films out of AMC Theatres would end up only hurting AMC Theaters, and therefore Disney, in the long run. I disagree with that personally; it's as much about the brands themselves as it is about the day to day profits for some companies these days.

I can't even picture one day seeing a Dreamworks animated movie shown at a DISNEY AMC theater.

They'd show DreamWorks movies in the smallest auditoriums. The Disney movies would be in the IMAX and Dolby screens.

Not to focus on the Star Wars side of things, but I've seen a few "Kylo vs Rey rescored" videos on youtube. Most of them have some choppy edits or only work for part of the duel. But this one actually came out pretty good. It's not as good as having John Williams do it, obviously, but one can't help but think of the missed opportunity to have Williams score one final lightsaber duel.

Scorsese's next may go to Apple or Netflix.

Killers of the Flower Moon will star Di Caprio and is estimated to cost over $200m (more than The Irishman). The cost is the main reason why Paramount told Marty to seek out other partners, though Paramount might still be involved in some way.

based on “The Lost City of Z” author David Grann’s non-fiction book, the 1920s true story focuses on a string of murders of members of the Osage nation in Oklahoma after oil was discovered beneath their land. The series of slayings was one of the fledgeling FBI’s first major homicide investigations.

I say let Marty do what he wants.

However...200 million for a Scorsese film. I mean what the hell is he planning?

Yeah, that's the most curious part, isn't it? Irishman cost so much mostly due to the deaging FX (and, probably, to a lesser degree, the cast and period setting). Even if this is more of a period drama, I have a hard time believing that either redressing existing locations or building sets replicating locations for 1920's OK would cost that much.

It's a brutal story that few outside (and even inside) Oklahoma know anything about. I hope Scorsese does it justice. I'm sure he will.

They're going to use the money to resurrect the victims for eyewitness accounts.

Especially given the newish gaming technology being used for virtual environments.

But whatever...a $200 million based on real life production should be that money going to health care workers, PPE and the unemployed.

Well, I mean, that $200m would probably be employing at least a few people ;).
