    I watch it every year, and it gets easier to watch. My first rule is, no skipping scenes! My second rule is, I must be drinking plenty of liquor throughout. There are some good things, like Jefferson Starship's song "Light the Sky on Fire," the Boba Fett cartoon is a classic, and I admit to enjoying Bea Arthur's song in the Cantina. There's also some bad...very bad things...
    Everyone who calls themselves a Star Wars fan should be duty-bound to watch the original Star Wars Holiday Special, for good or ill. Probably ill. Many people just stop watching during the first 10 minutes, but I think it's important to slog through it.

    I wonder if Sequel trilogy Obi Wan Kenobi will be a mix of PT and OT Obi Wan, he sounds more like Ewan then alec.

    I can’t for the life of me understand how fans can see it as a “slog.” It’s hilarious from start to finish.
    Sequel Trilogy Obi-Wan is a disembodied voice that says useless things that nobody listens to. He’s constantly frustrated by this and complaining to Yoda, who gets to do cool stuff like burning down trees and books, and who everyone listens to, including powerful Jedi like Luke.

    That 10 minutes of Wookiees growling and grunting at one another is pretty rough, even with the Bantha Surprise "Whip Whip Stir" it's just bizarre. I guess it was supposed to be subtitled? I mean, to someone like me who's watched it every year for at least 12 years it's not so bad anymore, but the first time viewer is bound to be...shocked about some things in the Special.
    It's our rubbish, and I'll watch it every year! I'm curious to find out whether or not this new Lego Star Wars Holiday Special will do outright homages to the original. I think any scenes like Itchy & the "WOW" video device are out.

    Yes, the non-subtitled wookie growling and grunting is bizzare in the extreme. Which is precisely why I can’t imagine not watching it. The bizarreness is mesmerizing and hilarious on a level beyond the normal expectations of comedy. It’s not a slog for me. It’s a trap. If it’s on, I can’t look away.

    There's a scene with all kid of prequel kick. Also does this mean Rey trains Finn.

    Not sure this holiday special is gonna be canon enough to put stuff like Rey training Finn in there.

    Plus this special seems to be more jokey towards the films.

    I think what is canon from this story is Rey visits a jedi temple, gets a spiritual journey, wether it be WBW or not we won't know. Maybe from that she decides to train Finn.
