Saga Where did R1 succeed that the ST failed to you?.

    The relationships in RO are also far more believable and earned than the ST (or the PT for that matter) It actually irritates me how much the ST tries to ram the "Great friends" aspect down our throats. All the hugs and all the friendship confessions don't disguise the fact that they feel hollow! The OT did this effortlessly...

    I think RO did pretty well for the short time and number of characters it had, but Chirrut and Krennic were the only real stand outs to me. Really, one thing that was lacking for me about RO was its character-developing. But that's a one-time film for you. It felt like the characters all got killed off right when they were becoming more interesting.

    I think the PT's character and relationship-building are underrated. It doesn't have that "great friends fighting together" vibe, but it's better than the ST. And the characters it has to work with are old-school Jedi and politicians, so yeah.
