Sucks that the trailer was Con exclusive!!! I really hate this concept.

 

Looks like online chatter regarding the D23 presentation has been very positive, which is great to see. You can tell this movie means a lot to Ford.

What's this about Kennedy saying Lucas is involved? I assume she just means as a friendly support/consultant?

Any of ya'll think they might actually just call this thing "Indiana Jones?" I would hate if they did so, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility here, especially it being Ford's last Indy film. The title places the emphasis on the importance of the character. Think, "Rocky Balboa" instead of Rocky VI, or "Rambo" instead of Rambo IV (or like First Blood Part IV--the nomenclature of this franchise is hilarious).

 

It was actually Mangold that mentioned Lucas, not Kennedy. No direct clarification on the extent of that, though.

Regarding the title, I definitely expect a proper adventure serial title for this. It's just too early to reveal it right now.

 

I think so too. They will make the title as fitting as possible. They just wait. I guess it will come with a trailer reveal. Maybe we'll get the D23 in December with Avatar and the'll put the actual title in it.

 

Looking forward to seeing Sallah. Trailers are always good for these; me making breakfast to that theme song would be exciting. I haven't seen Ford this excited about a movie in a while. A remember him liking TFA, BR2049, but not gushing like this.

 

Wonder if it's Marrakesh.

There's a throwaway line from the beginning of Raiders when Indy mentions that there's only one place Belloq can sell the idol, Marrakesh, and he wants to go after him there. I wonder if (especially in today's age of "leave no potential link to the original movies untouched") there's a whole story there of Indy and Belloq having previous knowledge of Marrakesh as a particular hot spot for antiquities smugglers and the like, which this movie could refer to.

 

I am waiting for the film and I'm curious if it is better than any of the parts of Indiana Jones as I want a new and great Indiana Jones film.

Oh hell yeah, we're getting a new series of action figures for all of the new movies. It's called the Adventure Series, which looks like a 1:1 analogue to the Star Wars Black Series.

Interestingly, the Belloq figure looks like it's Belloq in his ceremonial robes from the end of the movie, rather than the iconic panama hat and white suit that he wears for most of the movie. I guess they figure the ceremony at the end is the more memorable part.

 

I really love this line, supposedly from the D23 trailer:

"I miss the desert. I miss the sea. I miss waking up every morning wondering what kind of adventure the new day will bring to us."
"Those days have come and gone."
"Perhaps. Perhaps not."

I would really like a general audiences trailer soon. Honestly, I'm more pumped for this movie than I have been for any in a long time.

 

The trailer was fantastic and definitely has me excited about the movie. Amazingly it feels like the same adventurous standard of Raiders and The Last Crusade. I could tell they have gone all out to ensure it’s going to satisfy most fans after the mixed response of Crystal Skull.

 

Mangold seems like an inspired choice to direct. Time will tell, but so far so good.

Indiana Jones TV Series Eyed for Disney+ (EXCLUSIVE)

I would LOVE for this series to take place right where Young Indy left off - with Indy studying under Abner Ravenwood at the University of Chicago. An entire series about 20-something Indy learning the ropes from his mentor. He could meet Belloq, Marion, Sallah and tons of new characters of course.

 

This sounds good to me. Make it a 2D animated series that ends with a weekly cliffhanger like the old serials that inspired Indiana Jones in the first place.
