I can definitely believe that the Obi-Wan of the TCW era, 10+ years later, is more compassionate than the Obi-Wan of the TPM era.

Indeed. This is evident with Dexter in AOTC. He's starting to change into OT Obi-Wan.

  3. The 6 original movies are not that good they are entertaining but what matters most for me in Star Wars its the Worldbuilding the Comics, Books and Video Games were always much better than Movies and always will be

Dark Empire Luke is the real sequel.
Sequel trilogy Luke was a reaction to Dark Empire Luke and 30 years of pop culture from 1985 to 2015.

At one point in my life I never thought Star Wars could get worse than the PT... Until the ST. Then the bar dropped even further with BOBF and OWK

I don't even recognize Star Wars anymore.

I’d go with NJO as the real sequel and Unifying Force Luke as sequel Luke.

Everybody seems to love the Gold and White Jedi outfits from the High Republic books and comics, personally however I’ve never cared for them, and I honestly hope that we get back to seeing more ‘traditional’ looking Jedi asap.

At least they'd solve the problem of people saying that Jedi dress like Tatooine moisture farmers. ;)

The Jedi should look regal and noble.

That's more suitable for darksiders. Jedi are humble. Noble at heart, yes, but not nobility.

They should look however they want to look, though... but if they really are Jedi, they won't be given to vanity.

One of the things I liked most about the Jedi was that they dressed humbly, because it implied a lack of vanity. When you consider how much environmental damage the modern fashion industry has caused, largely as a result of our consumer culture, I think that sends a great message.
So, as much as I’ve enjoyed their stories and characters, I really don’t understand what made the High Republic authors to want take a hand grenade to it.

Leave space Gucci to the Sith.

I do think something on their robes that sets them apart as Jedi might be understandable, even if full-on gold trim might perhaps seem a bit tacky. SW 1977 costume designer John Mollo solved this problem rather elegantly in his sketches by giving the hood of Obi-Wan's robe a small silver tassel.

But it was not used. Lucas wanted Obi-Wan to not only blend in as a farmer, but be similar to the Samurai without their armor. Very simplistic, without flash.

All I know is that post TROS, I don't wanna see any more robes. I'd rather that look be for the old ways, not the new.

Clothes are overrated. They should just skip 'em altogether.

Well I think it's supposed to just be her regular clothes that she wore on Jakku, just newer.

But yeah, when it's pristine white, it looks very Jedi-ish, which I always found to be kinda awkward tbh. Everyone in the Resistance looks like they're...in the Resistance, while Rey wears this "I'm so special" outfit.

I got the impression that they were trying to make Rey look like Padmé in AotC and Leia in ESB with the white outfit. Trying to make her seem more like a "Skywalker" I guess.

I haven't seen a lot from the High Republic, but the Jedi do kinda look more like royalty than monks, probably because the creators wanted to make them look distinct and fantasy-like since it's an earlier era. I don't think it's too bad, from what little I've seen, but... wearing tiaras? Ehhh...

I don't think the Jedi should all have to wear the same exact thing, but as an Order I do think they should all dress humbly and modestly, and the robes and tunics exemplify that. I don't want the Jedi to stand out too much or look too design-y, like Ahsoka's TCW outfits. Those were just horrible.

She is different because she is a Jedi. Just like Luke changed after his training, first to the black gear and then to his Jedi robes.
