JCC Why does twitter suck so much ?

How can any of you tell if you are texting, SMSing, or Signalling or iMessaging? What on the Earth.

 

Are you kidding? The board made out like bandits. They knew they had a dumpster fire. They parachuted out of there richer than they could have ever hoped to be. That’s why they forced him to go through with the sale.

 

iMessage uses unencrypted SMS/MMS just like most text messaging apps as far as I know. Signal uses encrypted messages-- so does WhatsApp, ostensibly, but parent company Facebook has proven that they can and do read people's messages.

 

@DarkGingerJedi Yep and obviously that just doesn't go for YT but any content provider. I don't think it's dawn on him yet that even something like Apple TV which does not have a ton of content on it, still offers thousands of hours of content for $5.00 a month yet Musk feels like $8 a month for a blue check mark on a site that was really becoming irreverent even before Musk bought it. Now it has just becomes more of a right wing troll fest, it will gain even less relevance.

@Yodaminch Exactly and they are one of the several villains in this story that are getting a pass. One of the main reasons why the deal went thru is because the board pushed for it even though they knew Elon was pure poison. They didn't care though as they wanted a big golden parachute out of a company that was losing relevance and wasn't going to go anywhere anyway. The overwhelming majority of employees at Twitter were 100% against this and rightfully so expect the board since they were the only ones at the company who were going to make any major money off it. So like always the top bozos made out like bandits while everyone else got the shaft. It makes me sick truly.

Also, the EU is already threatening to shutdown Twitter there if they keep ignoring their own policies and regulations. Musk doesn't care though as frankly I think he only wants it for an American audience along with appeasing his Chinese government friend bozos by shutting down any news that is not good for them.

 

WhatsApp is more for circumventing text restrictions in Europe than actually sending encrypted information in my experience.

 

Quantity and international. Plus they really ding you on the MMSes.

Right, and they are sent via data (cellular data or wifi), not via text (SMS/MMS).

Except that problem could have been easily avoided by not unbanning him in the first place.

Which Elon is now insisting he had nothing to do with, which is clearly a lie. Even if the "decision" was made before his tenure, his megamicromanaging of Twitter makes it clear that he approved Kanye's return.

Further, it is very weird that Kanye's one time picture incites violence but not several months of open advocacy from Donald Trump, including literally encouraging people to go after Mike Pence after they were already breaching the Capitol Building's security perimeter with a noose looking to hang him.

 

Is it really weird that an image invoking a Swastika inside a Jewish Star could incite violence?
