I think Quinlan's ending in the Republic books was prefect and I never really saw the need of showcasing his life past that point.

Mostly because it relates directly to George Lucas’s plans. I’ve been hyping up a Quinlan Vos continuation since I was like 12.

I’m not opposed to Quinlan Vos getting a continuation for his fans to enjoy, but separate from Ventress please. Their relationship ruined her arc.

I want to see Titmouse Inc, gets to make a Star Wars animated series. I enjoyed the Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures shorts, along with Nico and the Sword of Light, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and the Legends of Vox Machina. They have great bright animation and super story.

I love Lower Decks. A lot. But I don't want that kind of animation for Star Wars.

I didn't want that kind of animation for Trek, but eventually I watched LD and realized that it totally worked for the show that the writers had in mind. With the right material, it could work for SW too.

What is the Star Wars equivalent of a "sarcastic Vulcan Salute"?

Star Wars would need to take it self a bit less serious that already does for anything like lower decks to happen although visions is taking us in the right direction as well as the occasional Star Wars Lego special

Star Wars will always take itself serious, outside of lego and small children program

the first half hour of the first star wars featured two comical droids, the empire strikes back featured a muppet as the jedi master, the latest star wars featured a group of lost kids looking for treasure

you could just ask easily make a case that star wars has never taken it self seriously

All too often, I wish SW took itself more seriously.

A story set straight after ANH, in the style of Andor centred around a new Rebel hero. With Mon Mothma, Ackbar, Willard, Dodonna and Rex featuring.

Star Wars has always maintained a very balanced serious-to-silly ratio. It's one of the reasons it works as well as it does. Even in the darker films there's always been a good dose of humor.
The outliers are probably Andor and Resistance. Andor is almost completely serious, and Resistance is almost completely silly. They both do still allow for a bit of the other thing, but it's probably why both are a bit divisive (Resistance moreso, obviously, but let's not discount the complaints of Andor not "feeling like SW").

I do think SW needs to take itself seriously enough to feel 'real', which is why I don’t think something like a Deadpool film would ever work in this franchise, but it should also allow itself to be funny and a bit ridiculous, as that's been in the series' dna since the very beginning.

A Lower Decks-style comedy show would have to really find that balance to work. Detours looked absolutely dreadful, because it didn't even appear to try.

I want a Dodonna origin show that's about him and Screed. Starting with the two in the CW and then the transition to the empire

I'm not sure if this article which quotes Tony Gilroy has been mentioned yet as I've been avoiding all Andor related spoilers including the threads on this forum but it might be of interest to those in this conversation. I only clicked on the article because of the title, I couldn't resist. As for Gilroy's suggestions I'm not sure which I'd want more, a sitcom or a horror film.

Gilory is going to get in his F-bomb in Star Wars by any means necessary.

If LFL is doing a fan Star Wars animation competition, someone should just submit the leaked episode of Detours

100% agree with Gilroy. Star Wars is, first and foremost, a world and a visual language. They can and should tell all kinds of different stories, with different tones, within it. The only thematic line I draw is against authoritarianism. Nothing that supports authoritarianism should be made under the Star Wars banner.

“Looks like,” yes, though without being overly strict. “Feels like” is subjective on a whole other level and they shouldn’t be narrow-minded on that front. After all, a bunch of fans didn’t think the prequels either looked like or felt like Star Wars. So whose interpretation of what Star Wars looks and feels like do you use as a standard? Better to open up the door to widely varying interpretations. Which is a big part of why I like Rogue One, Mando S1, Visions, Andor, and Skeleton Crew, the best. I think they’re the most “in George’s artistic spirit” of the Disney era for that reason. They’re not shackled to a specific pulp formula.

Yeah, all I care about is quality at this rate. New Star Trek stuff is neither good nor feels like Star Trek (Section 31), lots of new Star Wars stuff “feels” like Star Wars but are pretty bad (Rise of Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, etc), but I’ll take things like Skeleton Crew suburbia or Andor having Steve Earle music over that stuff.
