Hoole
    Platform, Above the Hive

The platform trembled, as the remains of the shockwaves reached it. The shields bristling with unloading power. Hoole ignored it. His two hands clawing at his long hilted lightsaber, his black eyes focussing on Kira Romar.

With his mind, he pulled a lever at the central console and ordered the plattform to rise higher. Hopefully that would buy him a few minutes. Before he had to deal with Xenly.

The humming that had laid beneath their meeting was suddenly gone. The right light grew dimmer and vanished entirely, as the shields died down. The blue blade of Kira Romar missed his head again. He dived the next blow and turned, striking at her back. But she was to fast, to agile. The force was to strong in her now. It did not allow him to surprise her.

    He had to break her.

Pushing her away he stroked down again, finding her defense prepared and stabbing at his face in a riposte. Dodging he stepped back and their blades met in air, using the kinetic power of their exchange. Somewhere beneath Xenly made his way towards him. Hoole felt fear. Somewhere inside of him. He felt fear.

He could control Xenly. For hours. Weeks, if needed to. Until the shields were repaired. But he could not fight Romar and control him the same time. The vision, he had to trust the vision.

They departed, Kira snapping forward, striking out once more. He blocked without greater effort. His arms performing the move without his mind. They parted again and circled each other for a moment. A few steps only. Not talking. His obsidian eyes staring into her blue ones. They stopped. Breathed in. Out. And attacked again. It was all so familiar. Every move seemed so repetitive.

It was a duel. Hoole had probably seen too many of them.

ooc: I hate to do such posts . . . but at least we all might learn a valuable lesson about Xenly the Ally from this :_| I am truly sorry.

    Xenly
    Inside his Hive

Music by Fin - Xenly Theme

"Together, Xenly. We can only do this together." Applying some more pressure on Si Kya´s head with his claws. Then let it loose. Almost having the young man fall over the edge and into the depth. Together? Rule the Galaxy? Hoole. Hoole was here. And Kira. Kira?

Xenly turned and hissed. "conQUER the gal AXY?" Xenly said and turned his back to Si Kya. His thoughts still hurled around. The names, they meant something. Somewhere were these thoughts. Not entirely his. Xenly trembled, as a wave of strange memories ran through him. Memories of millions. And then turned to the boy again. "wont LEEAVE him ANy. to conquerrre!" He hissed. Hunger. He focused on his hunger. He was his hunger. He had always been.

"Together, Xenly. We can only do this together." The boy said. In pain. Xenly stepped closer again. "I care what happens. And so do you." Xenly stared at him.

Together? Kira? Care? What was this thing talking about. "Am enough. neeede no more." Xenly only said and gave in to his true self. Hunger. Was so rewarding.

Grabbing the skull again, he stared the boy into the eyes. His insect eyes reflecting the whole face of his victim, as he began to squeeze. Apply pressure. Strengthened beyond the capabilities of his body. Yes, he felt the force. Ready to take him. Death. The reunion of life with the force itself in one painful blast of . . . agony.

He hissed and the skull split. And Xenly lay his head back and released air from his body. Feeling the ecstasy of a dying. The intensity. Oh he needed more. Oh by the gods, he needed SO MUCH MORE!

Releasing the boy from his grip, he allowed the body to fall into the void beneath.
"and whoo izzz KirA, any. way.?" He hissed after the vanishing body. And turned his head. Nearby. Someone was nearby.

    Kira Romar
    Platform

Kira´s blade snapped up, just as Hoole´s blade came to her. They clashed, twice, three time,s before his came around. Perfectly timed. She had to duck to have enough time to block him.

Stepping back, she realized the energy was gone. The hum. The shields! The shields were down. They were inside the hive now.

Kira leaped aside as Hoole slashed out again, dived a third blow, with the agility the force was now giving her.

    Xenly is now giving you.

Then her attack. Their blades met behind his back. But Hoole made no mistake, showed no insecurity. He knew always what would be her next move, saw every trick coming, every variation in all it´s possible outcomes. Deep inside Kira began to fear. Could she beat him? With all her power she had now . . . was Hoole to experienced? To advanced for Kira Romar, the failed Jedi, to beat him?

As if he had read her mind, another attack by Hoole rained down on her. Slowly pushing her back. Every move accelerated now, every strike aimed to kill. Both of them held nothing back. There would be no next time. And one did not saw he wanted her alive from his attacks.

Don´t give up. Kill him! For your son. For your unborn son, Kira!

    Hoole
    Platform, Above the Hive

A raging dance of blades. Remorseless clashing against each other, discharging ionized energy.

Kira Romar neared the edge of the platform, when he felt it. The Hunger. Pushed back by his brutal attack, the young woman stumbled. His strikes were a series of fast and brutal swings now. Unimpressed by his considerable strength and his blinding speed, Romar defended herself. But she found no hold. Defending, dodging, withdrawing step by step. Only a few more strikes, a few more seconds. Hoole had her. He almost had her . . .

And then there was XENLY. One of them. Roaring in anger Hoole made one strike to Romar´s head and kicked her away. The young woman stumbled back, gasping in pain as her stomach was hit be his iron boots. Hoole did not care. His hand extended, while his torso turned. And a wave of blue lightning escaped his fingers, grabbing the black insect that had leaped at him from behind and ripping it apart. A painful smile appeared on his face. he could have reached out and stopped the next one, but he did not. Instead unloading another wave of his anger. This time spreading it and capturing a dozen Xenly who had dropped on the plattform with it. The blue lightning illuminated the scenario now and made them suddenly visible. Screaming they backed away. Dropping from the platform one by one or dying painfully. Hoole hissed like a snake . . . then there was . . . Romar!

The kick send her over the edge and only her left hand grabbed the platform. Above she heard the electricity discharge into the attacking insects. She heard them burst, saw the blueish glimmer above. And felt her hand weaken, although the force was strong in her. She had been longing for an end, when she had come here . . . had been longing for death. Now she wanted to stay alive. To see her son grow. To give birth to him.

Then jump up there and finish the old man, Kira. Now! The voice in her head commanded. It was not Zorn´s. But a familiar voice. One she knew too well. Simeon Ternor.

"Yes." She hissed and unloaded the force, that was flowing into her. It felt almost as if it was burning her as she leaped up, over the heads of the Xenly falling down the platform as Hoole attacked them with blue lightning and landed behind Hoole. Her blade was fast and precise, but again he was already there, awaiting her. This time she had expected it, though. Her blade was blocked, but her body already moved again, leaping up, turning around it´s own axis and then her leg snapped out of the movement, hitting Hoole into the chest.

    Hoole
    Platform

The kick hit him hard. His armor took the impact, but his body did not stand the pressure. He was thrown back, into the last two Xenly alive and to the edge of the platform itself. Gasping in pain, he felt suddenly how his old, aching bones did suffer from the battle. He did come up, but his face now grimacing in pain. Kira Romar showed no mercy. The young Jedi was after him already. Good. She had it in her . . .

His red blade cut the air and hissed above his head as he leaped into her attack. Their blades crashed and the two came face to face . . .

"If your son will have only half your killer instincts, I will be a proud Master." Hoole hissed and his head snapped forward, ramming his forehead against her nose.

Kira did not answer, did not feel pain. Did not allow herself to. The force burned in her veins. Seemed to melt her inner core. And as the head of the Weequay hit her, she smiled. Blood coming for her nose, but she did not acknowledge that. Not allowed it to influence her. She only smiled and her head slipped forth in returned, hitting his nose this time. Once, twice. Then she pushed his saber away and unleashed the force in a wave of power between them. Hoole was carried back by that wave, landing painfully on his back. Only centimeters away from the end of the platform.

She did not let him understand, but was already after him. Her lightsaber now in reverse grip, it came down, the blade stabbing right into his heart . . .

    Hoole
    Platform, Alpha

Hoole felt the pain. The power of Romar was considerable, but especially her anger was. She could have beaten him. A few more years, a few more lesson in hatred and she could have . . .

Immediately she was above him, her blade coming down, he hurled himself up with the force, defying gravity and the laws of physics. Pushing himself to the the feet again ,rotating in the air once and then his blade was above his head and coming down.

Romar hit the platform and sparks and fire came from the slice in the ground she had cut. Hoole was already attacking again. His blade came down for her shoulder, to sever her arm. Again Xenly made her to fast. Her body evaded the burning plasma and then leaped into the air, just as he brought his blade down. Eternally slow he saw his blade miss her, as it cut the air. More Xenly arrived. Her hairs were burned by the red energy of Hoole´s weapon. Her body remaining for a moment in the air, as if she lay on an invisible bed. Then her arm snapped out and the blue blade neared him. His eyes, obsidian black like Alpha´s hive, widened as it cut through his shoulder. Leaving a burning mark there and soaring pain where his muscle had been burned.

The galaxy regained normal speed, now appearing blinding fast and Romar set down. Her blade came up, but missed him. A second attack he parried one handed. His boots no longer finding hold. No, it could not happen. Not like this. No. No. Hoole´s fear exploded into the force like a deadly flash of nuclear fire. His mouth pressed it´s lips together in pain, his arms, aching and exhausted forced his blade once more to perform a circle. And then a movement forward. Kira Romar stepped back and blocked, her legs now firmly on the ground, her blade secure in both hands. Her eyes burning. Hoole´s blade was redirected, as expected and again the world was so slow . . . as he pulled it back, just as Kira Romar was about to guide it away from her body. And the tip of the blade passed Romar´s leg and only two centimeters to longer to pass without doing harm, they cut through her upper leg.

    Pain.

"Aaaaargh!" She screamed out and brought her blade up, where the final strike to her shoulder had come. Her leg burned, a glowing mark above her knee. She felt it give in. Collapse. The burning force inside of her, drawing strength but failing to do the impossible. Kira collapsed to her knee.

Yeah. Kneel before him. Darth Zorn laughed inside of her head.

    Kira! Another voice rang.

She ignored both and raised the blade in time to defend against his coming weapon down on her. Hoole straightened, rising to his full height. And his movements were fast and precise. But not as they had been a second before. Or a second before that.

Weakening, he is slowly weakening . . .

And the force made her stronger still. Almost visible, as it charged her whole body. Hoole´s blade slashed out once more and he raised it above his head then, to end the fight. Kira had waited for that moment, without even knowing. Her leg, the healthy one, pushed her body away and her blade protected her from his strike, as her body slammed into his and send him over the edge of the platform.

    Hoole
    Platform and Hive

A scream of surprise escaped his mouth as he fell into the dark beneath . . .

Like a spasm the force wrapped around him, slowing his fall, redirecting him, only a bit and turning him. He landed on his, feet, with such an impact he was forced to bend his knees until his hand could touch the ground. Stone cracked beneath him. A cloud of dust expanding to all side. And his red blade ignited again as he raised. His eyes raised and he smiled. A thousand Xenly were all around him. Their sharp stings clacking on the floor. As he stood on top of the highest mountain within the Hive. Hoole´s mind expanded, sending a terrible ache into his brain. But reaching the Xenly. They allowed him to enter. Again. And just as the first did leap toward him, they could not attack him anymore. His will became theirs. His thoughts were forced on them. Sighing in ecstasy Hoole felt the power of it. And the dark poison it brought to his consciousness. Siri was near. No, no, Kira. Her name was . . .

And then there was resistance. Someone. Something. Eloa Lan? No, she was dead. He felt she was . . . who?

Screaming in pain, another flash seemed to rip into his head like a lightning striking his thoughts. In shock he released his fear, his anger and a wave of dark power spread into the Xenly around him, just as they began to move towards him. Screaming they were hurled into the dark beneath the mountain.

There were more of them. All around him. And now he had no more control over them.

Hissing he stood up, his red blade at his side. Fear. Yes, there was fear. But there was much more anger. Xenly would learn who was the master.

    Music - Part of Xenly

Kira Romar felt he leg give in. The cut had severed several sinews. But as she felt fear or anger, as she directed it at the wound, she felt it heal. Heal unlike anything she had ever experienced in the force. It reminded her of Darth Zorn and his consuming powers. It reminded her of the power she had felt on Karideph or a second ago in the duel. But it was so much stronger. It burned in her leg and she felt the organic material being forced back into place.

Xenly gave her that power. Xenly protected her. But something was odd with this power now. Something had changed.

Beneath the red lightblade was a very visible sign of where Hoole was. And his dark power radiated into the force, still.

    Music - Dark Desires

Hoole felt them. It. Him. And they were hungry and they were coming. They had waited for so long. So long. And finally they had their chance. Millions were crawling up the steep walls of the central rock of the hive. Hungry for his very flesh.

Xenly had never been worse. A hundred worlds and a few trillion more of him had made him truly a dark force.

    Music - Dark Desires

Truly a dark force. Death. Deaht had been his again. And like a drug-addict one small taste of it was enough to cause ecstatic need for more.

Hoole. He felt him nearby. And as polluted his memories were, as incomplete as his thoughts might be. He remembered Hoole in perfect clarity.

Music _ Leading the way to the end . . .

Keean looked at Kiar as if the Yuuzhan Vong had gone crazy. "Are you talking to these things?" He asked in disbelief. And the first Xenly shot forth, through the fire dividing them. Keean pushed the trigger and the thing was dead. Immediately. The others did not attack. Instead they turned and hushed away. Upwards. The steep walls up.

Some people would have thought they were called. It was coincidence. But Kiar should have known better. He had asked Yarong to guide him. And Yarong was leading the way. Climbing with one arm would be difficult. But if the gods wanted him to, he would make it. He would not be stopped by rocks . . .

    Music - The End is near . . .

"Glave. My name is Glave. And the poor Cathar not hearing anything over there is U´tek. I think you know him." He breathed out. "We are here to . . . " He coughed. "Save you. Although I guess U´tek must take over from here." Only now Tenk felt the man was dying. His fatalistic voice betrayed nothing of it.

Something hit the ground. Something lifeless. Blind as he was, Tenk couldn´t make out it was Si Kya. But he did not feel the boy anymore. Nowhere. The Xenly pushed back into the region.

But before the talk could go on, Tenk felt it. Whatever it was. Cold and dark. The icy embrace of the Dakr Side. It summoned power. It drew strength from the Hive. It was above him. Right above him. On the top of the rock he felt next to him. It was Hoole. And whatever he was about to do, it was terrible. He felt Kira, too. The Xenly. Tahnan. All kinds of people. It all came down to Hoole. The hill. Rock. Whatever one called it. On top of the rock, all things would come to an end.

He also felt Talia. Torn apart by guilt, anger and hatred. And feeling she was almost there. Almost there.

    She would be there. Too.

They had told her she was special. Master Lowbacca, Simeon Ternor, Asaja Morine, Ratep Sentarin, even Kol Skywalker had thought her to have a special connection to the force. They had ebbn wrong. They all had been wrong. All the time.

Kira had been right. She had always felt her surges of power, her ability to fight, her mysterious strenghtening whenever she had been in danger . . . it had felt unnatural.

    It had felt wrong.

Darth Zorn had been right. Xenly had known. She had been like them. In many ways. A part of darkness.

He leg helaed. Within´ moments. Fueled by dark power provided by Xenly. Forced on her. Forced into her. A part of her. Always. For eternity.

Tears were building in her eyes. A lie. Her life had been a lie. Her hand touched her belly. The place were her son was grwoing amidst the darkness. Life. A living thing inside of her. She had failed to protect it. As the force had failed to protect her.

And her blade hissed alive again. She stared down into the darkness. Not jumping. Not nearing Hoole. It was his move. The Dark Jedi would have to confront his own darkness alone now.

"Your move." She hissed and watched the events beneath unfold.

    Darkness.

    All there was.

    Darkness.

    Strangely familiar darkness.

Climbing From The Remains of the Command Center

As Keean shot the Xenly that jumped through the flames he dropped his arm to his side. The words that then flowed were as harsh and gutteral as the Yarong, clipped by the pain within, and path ahead. "I was a shaper that studied them until there was nothing left I could learn. It is sentient, now either save your shots for if they bother you and follow or find your own way out. My path is set."

Walking back as he talked he turned and ran jumping through the flames, much as the lone Xenly had done a moment before. The flames licked at his armored legs, teased at the flesh wounds, aiding in their clauterization, and added another layer unto the song that was his pain.

Raising his arm he secured the handle of the lightsaber in his mouth, the foul abomination barely registering beyond a slight disconfort...nothing compared to the pain. Reaching further he secured his hold and began to climb, centimeter by meter he progressed, the pain of working his wounded body was once more exquisit.

At spots where there was not enough purchase he would use the lightsaber, marking shallow grips, waiting for them to cool and then progressing once more. He had called on Yarong, and silently he still yet called to the main gods of the Yuuzhan-Vong.

Either way his path was set, the pain was undescribible, and the way was steep.

One slip and death would be his only greeter, no honor in that, but to hold the purchase...to stay the course...only time would reveal the fruit and truth it held.

    Either spoiled or ripe.

It was his to die for.

    Beneath the Central Rock

"Save you. Although I guess U´tek must take over from here."

This man - Glave - was dying. And in this state, Tenk doubted that he could do anything to save him. A healing trance may help but in here, in the nest of Xenly, where the dark side permeated every inch of the asteroid, his powers were limited. He had been able to save Talia back on Bakura but there were just so many factors that had allowed him to save her. The wounds themselves played a part; while Talia had been run through with his lightsaber, the weapon had cauterized her wounds, halting any excessive bleeding that would've killed her.

For Glave...Tenk's hand found the metal that had pierced through the armor that this Glave was wearing...and the blood. No good. Battle wounds were something else that Tenk had come to familiarize himself with during the war. The amount of blood that was leaking out of the armor, his best estimates as to how deep the metal sank in and how much damage it had done....there was no good. It was very possible that this metal was all that was holding the man together. Even if he could put Glave in a healing trance, there was something else that Talia had that Glave didn't: immediate medical attention. The rebels, having taken the capital, had made use of it's medical facilities and staff to heal their own wounded and Talia. Even then it had been too close. For Glave...

Tenk winced inwardly when he thought of Kaya.

There was the sound of something hitting the ground...and Tenk knew the sound well enough to know that it was a body. Not a body made of hard exoskeleton and chitin, but one of flesh and bone.

Tenk thought of the Professor and Si once again, about where they had went. Guilt hit him, making him wonder that, while he had been mentally dueling with Xenly, they had been killed as well. More victims of Xenly. Probably not the last of them either.

He had been about to speak to Glave but that was then the icy presence that could only belong to that of the dark side nearly engulfed Tenk at that moment. Or a near-manifestation of it to be precise: Hoole. Something was happening up above from where they were now. Hoole was drawing power, from the darkness that was Xenly, but for what Tenk didn't know. Only that it was no doubt going to be something horrible.

Did Hoole even know? Had he been fooled just like everyone else? That what these seemingly dark, mindless creatures - these weapons, as he saw them - were more then what they appeared to be? For all his planning, all his cunning, all his power, did Hoole not expect the metamorphosis that was - has? - occurring within Xenly?

Tenk felt Kira. She was nearby as well, practically right on top of Hoole. There was the weak, pained presence of Tahnan. And the seemingly ever-lasting presence of Xenly. Tenk felt everyone and everything.

And there was Talia. Even after having detached himself from her, there was a pain in his chest that he had to hold himself back from lifting a hand to. He still loved her, he always would; the bond remained between them. His wife. Torn apart with anger, hatred, sorrow. She was really like what he had once been on Bakura. Had almost truly become had she not saved him. He was going to make sure to return the favor today. He would save her, one way or another. There was going to be no try at all. He would do it.

The hill. Whatever happened, it was going to happen there. How this was all going to end, it was going to end there.

    They needed to move.

"Thank you Glave," Tenk was able to speak again, his sightless gaze turning back to the man before he lifted a hand and placed it on top of his head. As best as he could he poured the Force into him, to ease his mind, his pain. To give him comfort. To die peacefully. "If it weren't for you, I may not be here now. Rest easy knowing that this will not be in vain."

Despite knowing why Glave and U'tek had come, Tenk didn't think Kaya and t

Hoole. he was here. Some things never changed. Repusling him from his mind, Xenly turned and leaped up. Without any effort bridging ten meters and landing above. His children were everywhere now. Oh had they changed. He made one of them stop. Made him turn. And his clawed hand touched the creatures head. Oh, so beautiful. Hunger given form. Perfect. Absolute. Perfect.

Turning his head to the man above he slowly raised himself and began to walk, not run or leap, but simply walk to the top of the hill. Throught the masses of Xenly Through the millions of black bodies. Hoole had nowhere to go. He was his. After all this time, he was his. Devour your own Master. Thus become a Master.

Roche. They were not on Roche. But they had been. Hoole. Oh Hoole what fool you had been. Xenly could not die. Xenly was to many, now. Too many to kill. To many to control. For long. In time Hoole. Haven´t I told you? In time . . .

"SatisFY your neeeeeede. WIZ. HIZ. FLESH!" Xenly hissed and made them attack. While walking towards the top of the hill.

They were coming. All of them. Hungry, desiring his flesh. He knew them. He felt them. He feared them. He desired them. He would have them. HIs. His. Xenly was his. He had created him. Them. It was all his!

And if these insects thought they had foold him, outmaneuvered him, they should have known better. So much better.

Rising his blade he screamed out, the first scream coming from his rusty throat in centuries. And stabbed the red blade into the stone beneath. Sending out all his power. All his hatred into the force. THEY. WOULD. NOT. HAVE. HIM.

The blast was accompanied by bolts of blueish lightning, crashing into the lines of the Xenly, as they closed in, but the wave was ont only directed to the sides, but to all sides. And his obsidian eyes looked up, as he screamed and the wave hit the platfom.

Talia wiped her tears from her face. Hysteria. Something inside of her was well aware in what condition she was. But she had to work. Had to be effective. It all . . . it all depended on her now. A galaxy. Too much. Really too much.

The Lancer dropped dead to the ground. Never knowing what burned his skull inside his helmet. But Talia was not after his helmet. The lightning was good enough to see. She was after something else. Ripping the backpack from his armor, she crawled into the holdings and checked her gun. Nine shots left. Enough. She expected to never get more than one. Not really.

Turning she heard noises. Xenly. They were everywhere now. She had seen the insects devour Lancer´s alive. The stormtroopers in the hangar, who had slaughtered most of her people had screamed lit slaughtered animals when she passed it.

She wiped her tears once more and raised her pistol. And there it was. Speeding around the corner, hissing, raising it´s sting. She shot. Once more. A third brought it down, finally. Her hand trembled. She was lucky she hadn´t missed the shot.

Tenk. She hoped he was alright. She hoped he would get of here and she hoped he would never learn what she had done. Preparing, she withdrew the macrobinoculars of the lancer and looked down. Romar. Hoole. Insects. They were all there. Soon. Soon.

The Walls of the Center Rock

Kiar climbed up. Rock by Rock. Keean watched from below, then shook his head. What was the sense of going up there? The Vong was obviously crazy. The soldier turned and began running into the maze. As long as the insects were distracted.

Kiar, one armed, in pain, continued his climb. Soon he arrived on a ledge expanding from the original rock. It was empty, with thousands of Xenly crawling up the walls nearby. But something was lying there. A single body. And as mutilated as it was, one could still see the shape of the dead Eloa Lan. Split in two halves by something. Her face an expression of pain and horror still.

A large group of Xenly was suddenly all around Kiar. Ignoring him. Crawling to the wall and then up . . .

Tenk´s senses returned. But not to their full extend. He did not feel Tahnan, for example, who came out of nowhere to them, his gun, a mandalorian weapon, pointed at them. The Faleen sighed in relief. "Lt. Colonel." He nodded to U´tek, who had lead the way, Tenk following. Then he saw the Jedi and cleared his throat. "Qatar. What happened to your eyes?" He looked at Qatar in shock. His eyes-socks burned out.

And looked up again. The lightning was visible everywhere in the Hive. Like a sign to gather there for the last stand. Another wave of Xenly passed them, ignoring them and crawling up. The men stood amidst the creatures as they began to climb. "They ignore us. I guess the found something more to their taste." He yelled over the sound of thousands of small feets crawling up.

    On top of things

The wave hit the platform and split it almost into two. Explosions from overheated repulsor´s ripped it apart as Kira Romar, on top felt the screaming sense of danger in the force. Falling. To the center of this all . . . beneath . . .

Beneath her the wave ripped through the lines of Xenly, killing hundreds within´a second, but feed them even more, making them replicate into hundreds of thousands. Feeding on the hatred Hoole had send against them. He had won time, though. Hurling them away with his wave of anger, making room. Leaving the plateau up there free of XENLY. For a moment. The next lines crawled over the bodies of the first and made t

    Platform, Above

The wave hit the giant platform and a wave of explosions split it almost in two. Bending the structure, that began to fall. Kira hissed out air, knowing her tohughts, her pain had allowed herself to be distracted.

Damnation is something you accept or die by. Darth Zorn´s advise rang in her head. Truyl Xenly´s she knew now. And nodded. Somersaulting backwards she raised her blade and slowed down her fall.

He wouldn´t let her leave. He wouldn´t let her escape. There was no escape. Then he would have to kill her.

Aiming for Hoole, she redirected her flight so she would come down right behind him, her lightsaber hammering into his assumed defense with the power of a hundred meters fall.

Kira would kill Hoole. Yes, that was what she would do. Not her son. He would be free. Because Hoole would die. Now.

    Path Upwards

"Qatar. What happened to your eyes?"

The surge of the Force that had allowed Tenk to sense practically the whole asteroid had vanished, so the sudden appearance of Tahnan was a bit of a surprise to his suppressed senses. That made him inwardly grimace. He was blinded and far from his full power. While he was getting used to the darkness that greeted his sight, there was only so much that the Force could do for him. He trained, like any other Jedi, blindfolded quite a few times, but there was only so much that the Force could provide to him, especially if that most helpful commodity was limited. When he had first lost his one eye Tenk had tried to delve into techniques with the Force that would allow his other senses - hearing, smell, and touch - to be enhanced to make up for the lost half of his sight.

Now he didn't have sight at all. He was going to hope that the more mystical sense that the Force offered and his other senses that he now tried to enhance with the Force would be enough for the coming battle.

Speaking about a blindfold, when Tahnan had questioned about his eyes, Tenk just shook his head, a mention of "Hoole", coming forth from his lips before he tore a strip of cloth from his clothing. He supposed he should've done this earlier, but it was only now, with the cloth, that Tenk managed to establish an improvised blindfold to hide his ruined eyes. It was best to hide such a gruesome sight...especially when he confronted Talia. He was still looking out for her in the Force, drawing on what he could from what was left of their bond, trying to locate her. He had to find her, not just because he still loved her but because at such a critical event that was now occurring any actions from here on out can decide the fate of not only them but the entire galaxy.

And he greatly feared that the action she wished to pursue may end up dooming them all.

When he tied the knot, securing the cloth band over his eyes, that was when Xenly appeared. Not the Verpine but the swarm that now skittered past them. Tenk had dropped a hand to his side - and once again winced when no lightsaber came to occupy his palm - but such an action wasn't required as the bugs just crawled past them.

"They ignore us. I guess the found something more to their taste."

"We have to keep moving," Tenk spoke to Tahnan and U'tek. "We have to see what's going on and then...we'll see what needs to be done."

It could no longer be assumed that killing Hoole would be enough to stop all of this. Not with the revelation concerning Xenly. They were going to have to see what was going on and then...then they were going to have to trust in the Force on this one.

    The Rock inside the Hive

He felt his heart rush. Pain spreading in his left arm. He did not allow it. Hisw rage did not. Not now. Not yet. He would not allow them to best him. He never had. He never would.

Romar. He felt he nearing from above. The danger of his death by her blade singing in the force, amidst a million hungry voices. Turning he raised his arm and send another scream into the force, a wave ofblue energy hurling towards the falling body of the young woman. To catch her midair and make her feel the price for failure. Because a failure she was . . .

So much power she had. So much power offered to her, that had eternally been denied to him by his treacherous apprentice. So much . . . power . . . Wave after wave left his fingers, punching her body like strike by a club. The apoin. again in his shoulder. Spreading through his body. With a frustrated grunt he waved his arm and made her collide with the nearest rock. Then he turned around his own axis, spreading blueish lightning. The Xenly dodged it, leaped back. Some caught by it´s deadly touch and exploding. When his rorar ended, he felt as if he had been drained. The power of Xenly he had learned to use, to steal was getting lesser and lesser. His body, aged beyond it´s natural years was aching.

    Not yet.

Turning a last time, his blade hanging at his side, slicing a glowing mark into the stone beneath, he summoned what anger he had left. His last reserve. His hatred for himself. For his years of fear and cowering on this asteroid. For his fall from grace, his embarassing service to lesser men like Krayt. Hatred for his loss. For not having used the considerable time he had been granted. And that anger, that fear of death made him strong a last time.

His lightsaber at his side he rushed forward, charged to towards Kira. Yelling a warcry with his failing, rusty voice, as his blade tensed and flashed forward in a mighty strike at her heart . . .

    His last chance.

    His final hope.

    His path to triumph.

    His last battle.

Pausing at the site upon the ledge he grinned, one of the few acts that didn't send another pain. Eloa Lan, Priestess and god wanna be was dead.

Despite his mission growing in what it entailed even as he shrunk physically, he was bouyed by this site. Each stitch of horror on her face, the pain a sweet echo of his own, and the delishesness of her split body sent nearly a solitary thrill through him before dyeing in his own pain. Eloa Lan was dead.

The display from above did not even compute beyond a near turning of his head...it didn't matter. For by the time he got there things would be different again. He was halfway through his goal, two dead...only Yarong of Xenly and whatever it wanted dead if besides itself were on his plate.

Looking up ignoring the Xenly much as they ignored him he began to climb once more, using a newfound strength within the pain, as the distance to his spirituals journey's end drew near.

Brother I will see you soon, and the honor will be enough for three ascenions!

    Kira Kara Romar
    The Rock

Her fall was interrupted by a wave of pure pain. A wave of Hoole´s anger, his emotions becoming a painful reality - stopping her mid air and pushing through her. Crushing her rips. Throwing her of her determined course towards the enemy. Expanding like a shockwave.

Like a puppet in strings the spasm rann through her, as she was kept in the air. It took ll her will to keep her grip around the lightsaber tight. Then he send her into the stones. His power was terryfying, his control of the force, his grip of the dark powers frightening. Her body hit the stone so hard it shattered. Both the stone and the remains of her rips. Pain flashed into her very essence and remained there, radiating agony into her existence.

Coughing blood she remained there and looked up. Hoole came for her. Charging. He was no longer trying to ?get her? she realized. Now the ancient Master of the Dark Side was out there for the kill. And like all monsters, he was very good at it.

But she wasn´t alone. She was many. And even as Hoole chargedtowards her, seemingly eternally slow in his attack, she felt the intoxicating power of several billion Xenly. Their hunger, their power. Their will. For her to stay alive. To be.
Realizing her boundaries, her natural defense against Xenly was breaking, after having shielded her a lifetime, she gave in. And her arms pushed her of the ground. Landing on her feet, the force now flowing through her so powerful, she felt like burning alive, she brought her lightsaber up and blocked his attack. Whirling around, she blocked a second strike and with a deadly calm she striked out. Hitting his face with her bare hand. He vision seemed to change, her feeling of herself no longer what it was used to. The world shifted. The galaxy bended under her . . . will. Kira Kara Romar was not important anymore. As was Xenly. Only what she was meant to be . . . what she was meant to become counted . . .

Me. Darth Zorn laughed. You were meant to become me.

Her blade hurled around, blocking Hoole three times, while she summoned the force into her. Her rips seemed to repair themselves, draining strength from the infinite pool that was Xenly.

Hoole screamed. A thundering yell of anger. Answered by hers, as both were drawn into their deadly dance, Xenly coming from all sides. Coming for Hoole. Coming to kill him.

But he was hers. Blocking over her head, she kicked out and as he stumbled back only one step unleashed a furious attack. Her blade turning and smashing into his defense.

    Hoole
. More was not said. Tahnan nodded. The Dark Jedi was the root of all evil. Looking to U´tek who still looked disoriented, fighting with his hearing, the General nodded.. "Then let us go, Qatar." He said. And took something from his belt. Handing it to the blind man. "You may need this. Was the Mandogirls." He added. And the cold metal of a lightsaber lay in Tenk´s hand.

"If you need a rest, follow us, U´tek. You look bad." Tahnan said and looked up. Then leading the way. He was in a hurry. Kira Romar was somewhere up there and she needed his help.

As they arrived on the plateau on top of the rock, there were thousands of Xenly. Hundreds of thousands. All looking the same point. A spot a few hundred meters away. For Tahnan a place where little lights clashed into flashes of light. For Tenk Qatar it was an explosion of darkness. Where Xenly´s power channeled through a helpless Kira Romar met Hoole´s desperate might.

Below them, sitting in the dark Glave heard his own speeding breath. Hissing in air, hissing it out again.

In pain, but in far better mood, Kiar climbed on and on. Every meter a struggle, while his body seemed to grow weaker. He was udeniably wouned. But he was also almost there. He could feel it. And as he glimpsed up, he suddenly saw . . . it!

An insect creature, but unlike Xenly. Tall. Humanoid. Black armored. Stepping through a stream of the creatures like it was a nice walk. Without haste. Without fear. A King iwthin´his realm. A God. A Dark God. And there was only one God said to be present here.

    YARONG.

The name had a strange familiarity to Xenly. As he neared the two combatants, guided by millions of his breed. And there was something else. His children. They did no longer obey Hoole´s commands. But the girl. They did willfully give themselves to the girl. As if she was one of them. As if she was . . .

And in the center of things Hoole had only seconds left. As hundreds and thousands of Xenly ran towards him. He had won time by unleashing his fury. But it was running out . . . fast . . . and while his blade defended his life against Kira Romar´s attack, many, many claws prepared to take it . . .

In a way, Tenk was seeing everything better then he ever had before. The Xenly that carpeted the ground before them, all looking upon a single point where darkness clashed and boiled. That would be Hoole...and Kira.

"Xenly," Tenk murmured, and shook his head at what he saw.

A dark duel this all was. That of Hoole against Xenly's champion. No good could come of this, not with what Tenk could see. Hoole, as powerful as he was with such dark wisdom, would not win. Either by Kira's blade or Xenly's claws he would be taken as far as Tenk could see. No matter how he looked at it, with the mindset that he was at now, Tenk could appreciate Hoole's grand scheme. All that time, all that patience, the manipulation, the planning, Hoole had been masterful at trying to claim his ultimate prize.

But it seemed that Hoole had been blinded by the very darkness that he wished to bring about. His eyes so focused on the prize, the grandness of his scheme caused him to fail at seeing the consequences.

And Kira was going to pay the price for it. All this time, that darkness that Tenk had felt back on the Sunlight Ranger, it had been manipulating her. He didn't know for how long she had been tainted, but he could see how it was threatening to consume her. Her promise when they had last spoken, that she would not make the same mistakes that he had made, that she would not fall...a mistake. When she struck down Hoole, Tenk could see nothing could that'll come from it. Only the end. Of everything.

    Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes...so many mistakes.

"We need to get to her," Tenk spoke, looking over at Tahnan, the lightsaber that he had been given held in a tight grip. "I need to get to her." His fingers went over the lightsaber, over a surface that was so unfamiliar to Tenk but would be just as deadly as weapon as any in his hands.

He was going to need it and his trust in the Force for this. For there was going to be a course of action that even he thought was going to be crazy.

We may just have to save Hoole.

It had finally made it, he was tired, bording on exhaustion, and probably only that well off from trainings and being raised in the highest gravity enviroment aboard a worldship. Raised as a warrior.

He was wounded and as he crested that ledge, slowly breathing in and out as his single arm was the only thing beyond the abyss he saw him...Yarong. Moving within the throng of his subjects, a god among insects.

Pulling himself up he stood on his feet, he didn't yell, he didn't shout, he didn't take a demanding tone...he merely shuffled.

    One foot

    infront of

    the other.

"Yarong." the word exscaped between his teeth, much as a whisper might escape the lips of a confidant. "Is it you that wishes still to feel what you have felt in others...you have felt, delivered, and caused the third gift in many. Are you ready for me to return the favor...to give you that gift you asked me for before? Is there another that you cannot give it that you wish me to give it first before you? Yarong."

Yarong would here him, for he was surrounded by his ears, and an answer would come. One way or another.

The hour drew close, the nanoblip was upon him. Let it come...for there is nothing else to give....

    Nothing else to give.
