Very cool. That's a significant find.

 

Different, more terrifying species.

 

And they can grow 18 meters long/tall... that must only be a baby. I wonder how long they live?

 

"The Kraken" is the Colossal Squid, the one with nasty spikes and rotating hooks coming out of its tentacles (and a large beak that can break steel cable or so it is said).


The Giant Squid is longer which makes it impressive too, it's just not as bulky and monstrous. Of course it may well be the one rumoured to attack ships given it has longer tentacles.
I thought a Giant Squid had been filmed previously when one got snared on some deep sea fishing lines




But any footage, especially real wild footage, is great.





All we need now is a filmed fight between a Sperm Whale and one of the Squid.

 

The 1st photograph was actually a while back. This is the first video, however.

I find it hard to be impressed by the photo without any scale to compare it to. Looks like just a close up of a regular squid.

 

I haven't played ME2 in ages. Besides, it's Harbinger which says it so I was kinda right...

 

That picture may well be (I can't see the video myself), the eye seems very small and the article states it was only 3metres long which is not very large for a Giant Squid.
