Mace Windu is readied to take the podium. Hearing what is expected of him the Jedi Master refuses. ?I?m sure that there is another category better suited for me,? he tells her.

Tahi shakes her head no. ?Lola was very insistent that you were the one to present this category.?

Mace hissed, ?She hates me.?

?Lola does not hate you,? replied Tahi. ?She just hated the way you are portrayed in the movies. You have to admit you are a bit of a stuffed shirt.?

The dark skinned Jedi Master agreed that?s how he might come off. ?But wouldn?t this be better suited for that era? Why have me do this now, before the Saga??

?Several reasons; One, because that era?s awards are over; Two, because Lola?s the host of this era; and Three, because she wrote this ceremony, at least most of it anyway.?

?Did she write this?? He asks pointing to the teleprompter he?d be reading from.

?No. But it was her idea. I trust her. You should too.?

Tahi wasn?t sure if she should threaten a Jedi Master but there was only a minute left before someone needed to be on stage. Since it worked on the Sith, so she told him ?Besides, if you don?t do it I can guarantee that the next fanfic you?ll be written in will be something?well let?s say undignified.?

She put forth confidence in her words and in her thoughts added, ?Don?t make me call the Jedi Council.?

Whether his decision was based on either, or neither, she couldn?t tell but as mav called into her headpiece that it was time for the next category, Tahi looked at Mace who turned and slowly approached the podium.

What is the matter with Obi-Wan?
I thought he'd be happy with all the fun
he's having in epics and viggies we've done.
What IS the matter with Obi-Wan?

What is the matter with Count Dooku?
He seems to be looking a little blue;
yet we've given him drama and romance, too.
What IS the matter with Count Dooku?

What is the matter with Qui-Gon Jinn?
Just look at the state he's got himself in!
But we've given him hosts of gorgeous women.
What IS the matter with Qui-Gon Jinn?

What is the matter with Xanatos?
We've written him sexy, we've=2 0given him gloss;
but he doesn't appear to give a toss!
What IS the matter with Xanatos?

What is the matter? Don't you see?
They're pining for some poetry.
They yearn to feel the synergy
of metaphors and imagery.
And boy, how much they want to tell ya
they'd love some onomatopoeia.

Oh, how their gallant spirits pine
to be immortalized in rhyme;
or even half-rhyme - that would be
quite nice with some metonymy.
And not to put a fine point on it . . .
imagine Obi in a sonnet?

So people, don't leave Obi-Wan,
Qui and Dooku looking glum.
Get your Muse's juices flowing

and put your heroes in a poem.



The reading went off better than Tahi expected. She couldn?t help but smile when the Jersey accent came through her headpiece, ?He?s been kiwi-ified.?

Looking back, a relieved Master Windu was announcing the nominees.

Continuing to read the teleprompter Mace announced, ?mslanna could not be with us today. She sends this message?.?

I am sorry I can't be here today, but I am stuck in a netless holiday.

This category was the toughest of all in Lola?s opinion. And she wanted to do right by it and pick the best presenter. Unfortunately a lot of fandoms were not interested in participating in an awards ceremony not centered around them. So she did the best with what she had.

Like Lola, this presenter would be known to some, but not all. It simply mattered where you're from. To those not in his area he would simply be the face behind the announcer?s voice. To the rest he was the Megan Million Lottery Guy.
