It was time. After a very long 45 days, and a precious 1,070 hours it was time for the highly anticipated Beyond the Saga Awards ceremony to begin. And everyone was looking forward to the skits, presenters, and entertainment, not to mention the crazy antics that always seem to curse all Awards shows. Unfortunately there was a problem, however, it was time to begin the show and nobody walked onstage.

All the writers, mods, newbies, and lurkers alike couldn?t help but wonder if perhaps it was the wrong time, the wrong day, or if maybe the hostess was having computer troubles. Still they waited patiently as the time ticked by, and nobody had any clue of what might?ve gone wrong. And then the hostess arrived.

Lily walked out to the stage empty handed and wearing a gorgeous black evening gown. Still she didn?t look very happy, and she was also not even looking at the audience. It wasn?t until she adjusted the microphone to her height that she finally spoke.

?Hello everyone, and welcome to the 2009 Beyond the Saga Fanfiction Awards! I?m very pleased to be here hosting Beyond for the second year in a row, but I?m afraid I have a confession to make.?

Lily blushed and continued. ?You see I used all my best ideas for last year?s ceremony and my muse isn?t playing nice right now.? She sighed. ?So I?m just going to have to wing the awards this year, I mean how hard can they be??

But before anyone could speculate any further, an old CorSec cruiser rumbled to a stop on stage, and almost immediately they stepped out of the vehicle and approached the mike. Both were wearing completely black outfits with black hats and black shades. It took only seconds for the female members in the audience to recognize these particular men because they were in fact?Cade Skywalker and Jariah Syn! Or as they will be referred to today?the Blues Brothers!

Both guys couldn?t help but notice how several of the female members of the audience including a certain mod all swooned and fainted at the sight of them. Cade and Jariah exchanged a smirk and high five before Cade turned to look at Lily.

?Um?thanks for dropping by and all, but well why are you guys here?? Lily asked, and then after noticing some murderous glances being sent her way, she quickly corrected. ?Not that I don?t want you both here, but you see there is an awards show going on now.?

Cade pulled down his shades. ?We?re on a mission from the Force, we?re here to save the show.?

Jariah nodded. ?So don?t worry about a thing,? He said and then snapped his fingers, and behind them a spotlight turned on and revealed a band sitting behind them. The members of the band were none other than the Beyond volunteers all sporting the same shades the guys were. Lily looked at them baffled, but Alexis_Wingstar motioned her to come closer. ?Just go with it.? She whispered. Lily shrugged and then took the only open seat, and picked up a trumpet and put on her own set of identical glasses.

Cade made a motion for them to start playing, and he grabbed the mike while Jariah pulled out a harmonica. The song was a familiar rock tune with a blues edge, and then Cade began to sing.

It was then that Cade and Jariah started to dance, with hips swaying in unison in a perfectly crafted routine that matched the beat of the song.

Cade and Jariah took the first envelope and golden Yoda statue and walked to the podium.

?We are both proud to present this first award because it is such a rebel category,? Cade said.

?Exactly,? Jariah agreed. ?How else can you fight the system??

Breezy is dragged in by the hand by an anxious little girl, with long dark curls and eyes that are unmistakably ?Skywalker Blue??.


?Auntie Breezy, look! There?s my Pay-pa!?

A disconcerted look crosses her face as the many faces of Luke Skywalker enter the room.

?And there, and there ? and There!? Shy, she approaches a slightly younger version of ?Luke? to examine him closely. ?Who are you??

The young man kneels down to her level, and regards her gently. ?My name?s Luke,? he says softly. ?I?ve just come from Tatooine??

Pemberian Skywalker narrows her eyes, and pouts. ?But you?re not my Pay-pa??

?No,? Luke says gently.

?And neither is he!? Pem exclaims, spying yet another Luke on the arm of a tall red-headed woman. ?And that?s sure not my Ma-mere!!?

Luke smiled, as understanding dawned on her young face.

?There are a whole bunch of people, aren?t there, non-Pay-pa Luke! Like being looked at through the Force! Everyone sees us different like!?

Wordlessly, Luke nodded.

?And this is a place where everyone can celebrate what they see, huh??

Another nod, as the lights begin to dim.

?OK!? Pems says with an agreeable nod. ?Nice to meet you! I?m gonna go sit and watch now?.?

And just before Cade and Jariah had the opportunity to announce another award, a woman walked out, her blue hair swaying in the breeze as she approached the men and proceeded to glare at them.

?Deliah?? Jariah asked confused. ?What?s wrong??

?I?ll tell you what?s wrong!? she exclaimed. ?You guys are announcing the awards without me!?

?It?s no big deal,? Cade said lightly.

Deliah glared at him even more. ?You are just so lucky I got here when I did Cade Skywalker!? Then without further ado she began to announce the next category.
