It's almost that time of year to begin thinking of New Year's Resolutions! Two weeks from today is January 1st, 2009!

When we look back on last years goals and see how well we did or didn't measure up, the new year is the perfect time to turn over a new leaf.

Here is the link to the [link=] Resolution Thread from 2008 [/link]

What are you planning on doing differently this year?

    EDIT: Unlock per request

The question of the year; what to do differently?

1 - Write less - or rather, focus my writing rather than diversifying so much. In other words - don't write fifteen multi-chaptered stories in five separate fandoms at once; focus on one (but no more than two) in each.

2 - Finish "Hand of Fate" - it's not that far off, but far enough I won't get it finished before the end of 2008

3 - Finish writing "You'll Like Me When I'm Dead" - and post weekly once completed until story is done

    4 - Finish "A Star Too Far"

5 - Put up the rest of the "epics" I've finished here on my account.

6 - Publish the original novel a friend of mine and I wrote; and start book 2

7 - Overall, I just want to finish all of the WIPs I'm already working on before starting anything new.

Hopefully, I can meet most of my goals this year :)

    1. I have about 12 stories in some form of completion. I think my goal for 2009 is to finish at least 5 of them.

    2. Catch-up on all (or most, whatever :p ) of the stories I've fallen behind in reading.

    3. Write more stories in Saga.

Yeah... 3 goals, not too many that I won't be able to complete, but not too few that I feel lame. :p

    1. Finish writing my main story and start the second part.

    2. Write something for Saga and Before

    3. Writing other characters besides Kyp :p

    4. Start on an Original Story, since I've been wanting to this for the past two years

And I think that's about it.
4 goals that I think are almost manageable. The last goal...ugh. Maybe I'll finally start something decent in 2009.

Is hould be more careful this year, seeing how I managed almost nothing of last years resolutions.

    1) Keep my weekly diary updates until the year is over or I finish.

    2) Finish somehting old. I, Boba, or Human Cyborg Relations

    3) Finish something before I start something new

    4) More Mando Poetry

    5) Kill myself if I try to do the UDC in poetry again

    6) Win another NaNo

    7) Finish the draft of this year's NaNo and maybe get some way with turning it into a proper novel

    8) More Theta Squad stories

    [face_worried] It's such a short year...

Finish the two stories that have been languishing for far too long on my computer.

    Write new ones.

Finish the snippets that are also languishing on my computer.

Be on the boards more often than I have been the last several months.

    Here are mine:

    1. Finish rewriting the fic I started a little under ten years ago and repost it.

    2. Actually spend more time reading things on the board apart from USJS.

    3. Don't let school run my life!

(Yeah, good luck on the last one!)

    1. Complete my Before drabbles on time

    2. Complete the drabbles I started for the first challenge

    3. Completely finish writing the sequel to Halcyon Fire and have at least part of it posted

    4. Finish my 2009 Diary challenge on time and in the timeframe

    5. Pay more attention to Beta index and be more timely with getting interviews up

    6. To read the updates for stories I request PMs for within a week

    7. Take that Beyond bunny I have and get at least halfway through

    8. Write another short story in Before

    9. Spend more time reading (at least one vignette or chapter a day). Also, catch up on completed stories I've missed.

    10. Finish Diary of a Stupid Cupid since I hate abandoning stories

    11. Participate in at least one challenge a month (not including the Dear Diary challenge).

Up from 9 goals last year 8-} A lot of them are the same :p and I didn't get very many done last year, but I was so proud of accomplishing what I had that I figure getting just a few of these will be good.

While I'm at it I may as well establish peace in the middle east and eliminate world hunger.

What are you planning on doing differently this year?

Primarily expanding my writing to include characters I don't write that often. I've gotten so comfortable writing the same few and I think it's time to expand my horizons a bit.

Now the question is, will the muse cooperate?

Oh yeah, and I need to finish my WIPs.

    1. Finish all those stories that are still in limbo (especially my Dear Diary story from 2007...should it be that hard to finish something, really?)

    2. Get all my stories up on a personal web site. Having everything arranged chronologically looks better since I write a slightly complex AU GFFA

    3. Erase myself from history. That releases me from any creative obligations, and leaves behind a light minty scent.
