JCC 2019 Ghoul Pool (Deadpool-ish)

    Matti Nykänen, one of the most legendary ski jumpers ever. He was probably the most talented jumper ever, winning silver and gold in Sarajevo 1984 and double gold in Calgary 1988. Lately he was more known for his alcohol abuse and violent behaviour (and a failed pop career in Finland), but it doesn't take away his accomplishment in the ski jumping hills. He was definitely one of my idols as a kid (I only knew about his jumping then)

    Haven't seen any blurbs on it in English language media yet - but here is his wiki entry with the death date https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matti_Nykänen

    Awwww, Matti Nykänen -- even if I hadn't enjoyed Eddie the Eagle as much as I do, I'd have remembered him. I didn't know how badly it got for him later on in life, but he was amazing for the time he jumped as "The Flying Finn"...

    Yeah, his son committed suicide at a mental health facility and I don't think Kristoff ever recovered from that emotionally or mentally.

    I believe a page or so back.

    586 legitimate home runs. That was a big number when I was a kid, I believe it was 5th all time then. Now it's 10th all time. Would be at least 7th all time if you removed the roiders ahead of him.

    All time great.
