    The only possible explanation I can think of is that they want to end the show with Chadwick Bosman's wife's speech. I don't know why they would choose that instead of Best Picture but that's all I can grasp straws at.

    I wasn't looking at the Nomadland people collect their award but I heard someone call Frances McDormand Fern, and I heard Frances McDormand get quite pissed off at that. Who was it who called her Fern, and who must be ****ting herself now?

    I usually give up watching the oscars after the in memoriam. Heck this year I have been really off my movie game. I have only heard of like 3 of these movies before.

    great for anthony hopkins. have yet to see the father, but he's one of my favorite actors.

    thought they did a good job tonight with the weird pseudo-normalcy of everything.

    Saving Best Actor for the end because they assumed it would go to Boseman only for it to go to someone who didn't even bother to attend the ceremony is hilarious.

    Can anybody even remember exactly how the show ended? I can't. Last thing I know, Phoenix was telling everyone the Academy accepts the Best Actor award on Hopkins's behalf... and that's it...

    McDormand only has to win one more Best Actress Oscar to equal Katharine Hepburn, which has seemed all but impossible for a couple generations now.

    Even Meryl Streep has "only" two (and one more for Supporting Actress, like McDormand).
