I promise that whoever is promoted, they can make double my mod salary right from the start. I appreciate their help that much, heck, I'll even triple it.

3SA knows who helps out and who flies under the radar. As much as I respect Bob, there's no need to openly say promote the guy in 3SA or Comms.

I've seen the crap that's been going on over on 3SA with our little porn friend and the other trolls. I really don't want to see the mods overloading between real life and here for some 12 yr old punk, who's just learning about porn and other disturbing images. Maybe a temp mod until ROTS?... I don't know what to say.

Well, it's likely a few of the mods will step down in the 3SA after the release. There just won't be much of a use for them all after things ware down.

We only have 2+ months left. It's mostly weekends when the cats are away and the mice will play, so let's ask some retired mods to come back for about 10 weeks to help out. The traffic will slow down by July.

Gender does not matter imo, as I said before though I think the time that the person is able to be online and also the time zone does matter considerably, also they need to be experienced somewhat in moderating.

Two things will solve all the 3SA problems.

    1) No one can start new threads.
    2) Posting only allowed in official threads.

If there is something new to discuss that one may think deserves a thread, PM a mod and it will be created.

For the weekly AoRs, Knollvisions, and BTHs, mods should create an official thread where the new one each week will be discussed. Each new one doesn't really need it's own thread. The only upcoming new threads needed are for webdocs, insiders, and any other medium i.e. tv spots, other magazine articles and the like.

Thats defeating the whole object of a forum, you find some news, you post it, people give opinions. That idea you gave sounds very flawed imho.

I know it sounds like a bad idea. It almost sounds like a "freedom of speech" being taken away. But if you think about it.

    - No more trolls starting new threads.
    - No more new posters, or "noobs" starting new threads.
    - No one complaining, "Why did my topic get locked?" threads.
    - No more redundant threads.
    - No two threads starting at the same time, waiting for the mods to lock one of them threads.
    - No more posters saying, "Ok mods, lock it up." when they find that the topic already exists somewhere else.
    - No more threads discussing finds from supershadow.
    - No more lockers, no more books, no more teacher's dirty looks.

I'm sure the list of postives out-weigh the list of negatives.

    No more fun.

I'm a huge proponent for official threads, but it would be really boring if EVERY topic was shoehorned into only a handful of threads. Lots of speculative and theoretical topics need a seperate thread so people aren't talking about 20 different things at once. Only having a couple dozen threads would just mean more chaos within those threads.

Plus, it's easier to track down and stop trolls when they're making new threads instead of all their posts getting buried in super-fast moving 2,000 page long threads.

True, but the threads getting the most activity will be at the top of the page, where mods can easily see and monitor, and if they see a problem, they can ban the troll inside, lock the thread if needed, and start a new thread.

Trust me, I see both sides of the coin, but come April and May, it's going to be chaos. And after seeing "The Dagobah Cave" thread, and the one thread with the tubgirl picture in it, I know that I'm leaning more towards my idea stated above.

I'm all for more fun, and I love creating new thread when I find new stuff, but most of the time, I see a new thread, and the second post is "old (picture/information), next?".

I'm all for a little more order in the 3SA, but that's a little harsh, don't you think?

Not only would that not promote discussion, but it wouldn't be much fun to partake in.

The only restriction I support is restricting new topics by members with less than, say, 20 posts under their belts. That way redundant threads should be cut in half (at least), and spam attacks will be a little harder to orchestrate. They still won't be impossible, but it should be easier to identify who's doing what.

Forcing a new member to post 20 times would promote active participation in the forum, allowing them to get their feet wet and learn the ropes so hopefully when they do start a new topic, it won't be instantly locked and redirected somewhere else.

Again, it won't prevent spam and troll attacks (only slow them down a little I guess), but it should cut down on redundant threads.

The day 3SA become's an exclusive club where only select people can create threads is the day I would resign as a moderator of 3SA. It's never going to happen while I'm around.
