So I've been reading Live and Let Die , never read it before , it's an easy read , well written etc. but the Bond books are very different to the films of course , Bond isn't very likeable , he isn't funny or very charming really .
Also in this one much of the major action happens off-screen , like - Bond and Solitaire spend a long time on a train but get off early and later we learn that their cabin was attacked by thugs with machine guns and bombs . Then later Solitaire is kidnapped but we only learn it afterwards , and Leiter goes off to investigate and gets eaten by a shark but again we only learn later that this happened .

I never noticed Richard Branson had a cameo in Casino Royale. Apparently he provided a plane for the film and they put him in.

That's the bomber on the left. I just saw Branson as the film is on right now.

I saw a trailer for 1917 today - it said "From the director of Skyfall"... no mention of Spectre I notice!

That title's even lazier than Die Another Day.

April is a lot sooner than I was expecting.

Please just let this be good.

At this point I'd settle for it being simply okay.

Honestly, how many Bond titles are remarkable? I can only think of a handful.

    1. Live and Let Die (clever and an appropriately badass credo)
    2. The World is Not Enough (thematically provocative...too bad the movie sucks)
    3. The Man With the Golden Gun (a clever play on "The Man With the Golden Arm", and mighty cryptic)
    4. You Only Live Twice (underscores Fleming's resurrection conceit)
    5. Thunderball (bombastic/sexual connotations)
    6. Goldfinger (an inspired handle for a villain)
    7. Dr. No (ditto)

Just be glad it's not Octopussy.

Kind of hard to determine how "good" a title is until you see the movie.

It's a very generic title. It is the kind of title we get when the film's original title is considered not exciting enough, like Licence Revoked becoming Licence to Kill, or Tomorrow Never Lies becoming Tomorrow Never Dies. If you can put the title on any action thriller and it still works, it's pretty generic.

Quantum of Solace was on HBO last night and I tuned in during the opera scene. I really liked how the one guy was smart enough not to leave when everyone else was, allowing Bond to identify them. Then I liked how the next scene with the shooting and the chasing was edited although I started to get a little lost as it was jumping back and forth between Bond and the opera, but the quick cuts were neat.

    lame title
i remember SNL did a Bond spoof years ago and the title was something like 'tomorrow is never yesterday', and i thought that sounds very generic, and pretty much how the real titles had been getting prior to Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace

It's alright but sounds too much like a title for a Die Hard sequel.

    No Time To Die Hard

I like the title... it's nice and "Bondish", even if it's a little close to sounding like "Die Another Day". I also like the retro style font they used... pretty different from the fonts used for all the other Craig films.

The title totally works for me. It feels like a bit of a throwback, but I’m totally fine with that vibe as long as they stop trying to throw their way back to the Roger Moore cornball humor. It feels like a very Bond title. Maybe a bit generically so — it feels like something one of the post-Fleming books should have been named by now — but it doesn’t bother me.
