Finally figure out how to log in, and get started and actually see the game,
and wait (too long) for it to start and miss a turn and then get the site up and
    running
    .
    .
    .
    only to see this

    Attention
Conquer Club will be running slowly today, so please try to avoid organizing any realtime games until we take this down. We are rebuilding the test database. Unfortunately, some people will be missing turns. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience.
    .
    .
Will report my progress on this thread.

Well, I think I just made some moves in one of the early rounds.

Must report, that even after playing with the color controls on my monitor
at work, I can not see/read what I have and where very well if at all.

Hopefully, my first moves are not too goofy,

but feel free to let the hazing begin[face_laugh]

You have to start somewhere. At least you can only get better.

On another note I have a few questions for you

    1) Where was that info about the Death Star Construction Union

    2) My Mom was wondering how much you have invested in your armor.

Death Star Construction Union item came from the replica props forum,
I think non-members can read this thread but not post there.

    http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=14052

This is where I got my hard hat from, the guy was also selling them on ebay.

I thought there use to be a t-shirt on this as well, but I can not find
any info on it at this time.

As far as things go, getting a custom T-Shirt with wording should be no problem,

NOTE: South Bend should have a Club orientated, Star Wars
    T-shirt just for them anyway:)

ref armor costs.......check your pm-s, but know that it has been 7 years of
collecting and getting a pc here and a pc there. The boots are commercially
available for CA BOOTS for around $100.00, and High quality under armor,
the black part, which can be a Swim/snorkel dive-suit (not scuba) or a Unitard,
and they too can run from 80.00 to 100.00, depending on quality.

for other info, just visit ebay to get a ball park figure.

Search from the master ebay screen for "stormtroop" and then sort by highest
price first, and a few basic starter kits should show up for aroun 500 to 800,
    not assembled.

more in a pm for ya:)

Check out the Conquer Club Tools thread... BoB lets you fade the map down so that you can see the colors MUCH easier.

    Thanks for the advice:)

    Just completed a turn,

attacked everything madly, have no idea where to deploy or fortify,
    the dice have been kind,
got a card....but now idea what kind or how to use it.

but, heck...at least I am playing:)

I think I need to read the rules as well.....I just attack until I am done,
deploy to the first place I can see, and fail to understand how to read
the dice....some of which are sometimes highlighted.

and why the number of dice changes....do not get that,
and why, when my total looks larger I still seem to loose the roll.

also, all players are undefeated (even me), so this game should put someone
down with a loss (me for sure)

ref tools.....do not think I can use them here at work, am on a dumb terminal,
or no disk drives of any kind and no way to load/upgrade software. Am at the
    mercy of company HDQ.

Once you get the basics down, it's a pretty cool game. I take it you understand the dice and highlighting then.

I don't use any of the tools that X uses and I get along fine.

yes, I just ingnore that I can not see things and deduce my situation
from what actions the game offiers and how the dice are rolled:)

now, I just do not trust the sites random number generator[face_laugh]

Have just discovered the far right hand side of the board where the
countdown timer and other stuff is......I guess I just failed to notice
the sliding bar as I was squinting so hard to see the pretty colors in the
    map which obscures my numbers.

also......The numbers next to the continents as listed in kinda a blue
on the left side......are those the continent bonus'?

Correct! Every map has its own key that tells you any special rules about the map.

As for strategy, it is usually best to attack minimally unless you see a situation you can take advantage of (i.e. an opponent with a weak front, or someone who is weak enough to eliminate to get their cards).

The amount you should attack should be based on the "Bonus Cards" setting. If it is on Escalating, it pays to attack every turn.
