and here's the timelapse recording of creating it on an iPad and then transferring to Photoshop for final touches
thank you kindly! it was very hard to get the proportions and color values right, because its not just gold, its 'stained' gold plating on threepio
O-Bulent Kenobi: Amazing work! The level of detail on this is just awesome. If you did a Vader painting, I would squeal with glee!
You were all very kind regarding my last post, my C3PO iPad painting, and I have heard your requests for a Darth Vader one but I have been dying to do this one first. A speed painting video is posted below it and there is also my blog where I go more in depth on the piece, and you also can view my other works there as well.
thanks so much! my buddy, who posed for it, really loved it too. I tried painting my face in the carbonite but it didn't work out
actually i am a storyboard artist and i have also boarded SyFy tv movies on an ipad visit crazypencil.ca to see more thanks again!
Its not perfect but its a start. I think I can do better next time. not bad tho (i think) for super cheap dollar store supplies!
Thanks! Yes I will be doing a Vader iPad Painting /Speed Painting video soon, I just need a dynamic Vader for that. For canvas I just wanted to start simple, but I complicated it by choosing the yellow/red color values and ended up 'sponging' the background in with paper towels of all things! you can see some of the videos on my vine account (same name)
I'd keep at it; you obviously have a lot of talent. The background's amazing, and so are the highlights (those are just the parts that stood out to me).
Sweet! Dude, if I had your talent I'd be cashing in on it, ha-ha. Truly splendid work, down to the very last detail, and the color choices are impeccable; from the backdrop to the reflections cast on Vader's armor. Kudos.
Not so. It's detailed and very expressive in terms of the strokes and color choice. How long did it take?
