    Hey Gang,

    I use to post a lot back in the day before I was an Lucasfilm artist (TF.N Fan Art Museum and these forums is how I was discovered by Lucasfilm) and I figured why not start up a new thread. I'm going to start it off with a look at my Celebration IV print:

    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/art_posting/HodgesCIV-Print.jpg]

    18 x 24

    I'll go ahead and post some other stuff later on and over the weekend!

    I'll jump right in and extend a warm "Welcome back!" TDHArtist! I think you were already working for LFL by the time I got around to posting in this forum, but I do know your work from the Fan Art Museum, from a lot of your pro-art and your stellar reputation. I love your style and your vision, and I know we'll all be very much looking forward to having you share some things here in the forum again!

    Your print is just awesome: it so totally captures Luke's wistfulness and simmering frustration, stuck on the moisture farm and yearning for bigger adventures! I just love his posture, sort of slouching against his beat-up old speeder and gazing up into the gathering night--all wonderful! As I told Cat in her thread here: I so wish I was going to C4--but it's such a treat to be able to see some of the fabulous art that will be there, right here in our forum! :D Thanks so much for sharing this, and again--welcome back! :)

    I also welcome you back, I'm sort of returning to the FA forum myself. Great piece BTW you've really captured a moment here, Luke looking to the Stars dreaming of something bigger.

    Anyways see ya around.

    luv it!! :D

    It does capture the moment very well and the simple but bold composition ticks many boxes for me.

    Will you be appearing at Celebration Europe per chance??

    Thank you all. I have tweaked it in spots and changed the boarder. It also now has a title:

    "One More Season"
    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/art_posting/HodgesFINAL_small.jpg]

    Also, any fans attending C4:

    I've been putting a lot of thought into this and I've decided that at C4, I'll just be doing $20 Bust sketches at my table and doing $20 to $40 sketch cards, webstrip originals and possibly some other stuff.

    I'm doing this for a few reasons but mainly it is that if I'm tied down to the table working on full commissions, I will not be able to enjoy any of the show. It happened to me at C3 and I regret missing as much as I did as does Terri.

    With that said, I will take orders for pieces that people can pick up AT Celebration. Between now and May 20th, I will take Requests for Commissions. Just PM me about pricing and deposit info. All that is required is a deposit, the balance will be paid at the show upon pick up.

    I'd actually prefer to do it this way. When I can sit at home and work on pieces, I can put more focus into them and give you the best possible piece of art.

    Thank you and sadly, no. Europe is not in the cards for me this time around. I would LOVE to do a show in Europe at some point though!

    Here's a bunch of stuff you may or may not have seen...

    The Bossk/Aurra was the T-Shirt art for last years Fan Club President contest. The others were commissions. Basically not unlike what I'm offering in the commission pre-order for C4.

    Hey, welcome back! [:D]

    Those look awesome! I really like your style! (and others must have thought the same)
    Yoda looks very evil! :eek: *hides*

    My fav one is the Twi'lek Jedi (Aayla?) fighting the Sith woman....no clue who that one is. Not that much into the PT. [face_blush]
    But I love their poses. Though I'm not sure whether it is a good idea to turn your back toward a Sith.... :p

    Would like to see more! :)

    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/sketch_a_day/Mara_small.jpg]

    FYI, I'll be doing these types of sketches at my table at C4.

    Hell yeah, one of the best Boba arts for ages! =D= =P~

    Any chance you got this one uncolored, too? You might remember me, I already colored two of your linearts with Mandos, and would really love to give this thing a go, if you don't mind.

    Anyway, keep it up, Tom, great looking sketches here and on your comicartfans page. I check there more than weekly. [face_mischief]

    You know, I would LOVE to have some folks commission me to do some of the McQuarrie early concepts... I think those would be fun!

    I put a lot of thought into whether or not I would do a Reserve List for my print. After mulling it over and over, I decided it would be a good idea to do so.

    What I am planning is the List will be for the first 100 prints. #1 thru 100 will be available IN THE ORDER the reserve was received. If you order first, you get #1 and so on and so forth.

    I also decided that I will give reservists an incentive. The print will be $30, BUT if you are one of the reservists, you will pay $25. The rules are:

    1. If you reserve a print (or prints), I will need you to have your name as appears on your ID because your confirmation email will include which print number you will receive.

    Example: If you are John Smith and you happen to tell everyone in a forum you got #1 and Joe Blow wanted #1, I want to make sure John Smith picks it up, not Joe who seemed shifty from the beginning. I didn't like his eyes I tell ya!

    2. If you are having someone pick a print up for you (NON-Attendees) PLEASE include the name of the person picking the print up for you in the email.

    3. All reserved prints must be picked up at my Art Show table by the closing of activities Friday, May 25. The exact time is unknown since the schedule has not yet been released. Any prints not picked up will be put back in stock and sold at the regular price on Saturday morning.

    4. DO NOT SEND MONEY!!! This is VERY important. You (or your representative) will pay for the print(s) at the show.

    To reserve a print (or prints) please email hodgesc4print@gmail.com

    You should receive a confirmation email within 24 hours.

    If you have any questions, PM me . The Email is for the reserve only.

    Tom

    The thing that saddens me most about missing out on C4 is all the awesome artwork that's going to be available there. :(

    You've got lots of very cool stuff in here!

    I've gotten a lot of PMs about Commissions and some folks don't seem to think it's in their budget. I more then understand and to make it easier on those who want something but want to stick within their budget, let me show you what I'm doing at the show, by request, and the costs so you can plan ahead:

    For $25 I'll be doing 11 x 14 Bust sketches on demand, no limit on how many you get, I just ask if there is a line, you get yours and come back for another They would be B&W with some greys and a color:
    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/art_posting/LeiaHS.jpg]

    Also for $25, I'll be doing 3/4 Quickie sketches on Cardstock (or your sketchbooks). They are pencil drawings like this:
    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/sketch_a_day/Plo_small.jpg]

    Then there are my sketch cards, they will range from $20 to $30. $20 for a pencils only card, $25 for a fully inked card and $30 for a Ink/grey toned card. My sketch cards were produced by the same company that made the Topps sketch cards and they look like this:

    2 different fronts:
    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/art_posting/hodges_front1.jpg]
    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/art_posting/hodges_front2.jpg]
    and the Back:
    [image=http://www.tomhodges.com/art_posting/hodges_back.jpg]

    I'll also have a VERY limited amount of sketch books I made just for the show, they're $10 each while supplies last. I'll have original art for sale from the Hyperspace webstrips. Those will be SPECIALLY PRICED for C4 only, $25 each OR 5 for $100 (No I'm not joking). and some a bit more high end art pieces like some of the work from the "You Can Draw Star Wars" book.

    I hope this helps those who feel the full commissions are a bit out of their budget. Regardless, come by, say hello even if you don't buy anything.
