Bring all the classic monsters into one film? Yeah, that was called Van Helsing.

I'm pretty sure it was actually called Abbot &a Costello Meet Frankenstein or the Monster Squad.

    Further creepings of lifesupport.

The next rumor du jour in the past 24 hours or so is that Universal’s seemingly collapsed Dark Universe initiative – a linked monster movie cinematic universe – may still have some life left in it. Artist Robert Vargas posted on his Instagram account that he had a meeting with some of the folks at Universal who are in charge of what’s left of the Dark Universe. They reportedly want Vargas to do some artwork for them related to ‘monster things’.

Screenwriter Ed Solomon previously said the studio was reconfiguring their plans for the franchise moving forward.

Much like Jason Voorhies, Michael Myers, Charles Lee "Chucky" Ray, and Freddy Krueger....they just won't allow it to stay dead.

Well, clearly they're finally approaching this series with the appropriate seriousness and thoughtfulness.

Reboot it as a shared universe between all the 80's Cronenberg films.

Interesting that they say "tabled" but not "cancelled". Still, it's smart of them to work on the characters first, worry about connecting them later if they never had a real clear plan of what they were going to do with the shared universe.

Wow! Color me surprised on multiple fronts.
I thought this universe was dead. Maybe it still is.
And that is a great story idea to make something old fresh again.

Interesting take on the idea- though that trailer showed waaay too much.

I'm pretty sure the DU is dead and now Universal has started doing unconnected projects with the properties.

Ironic that the trailer for the invisible man movie would show so much

The Invisible Man was a fantastic movie. I went in without watching any trailers and it was everything I wanted it to be. I'd definitely give it a trigger warning though; the domestic abuse stuff was harrowing.

Fantastic? I want to punch someone I hated that movie so much. That was a top notch trailer but the movie just flubbed it away. Great idea but the execution was so eh. A couple rewrites and tighten up the pacing could deliver something great.

I liked how they came up with the Invisible Man concept in this one and there's a shot where Invisible Man is beating the hell out of some unsuspecting sap in a single take that is quite impressive, and the hospital hallway action scene was really great. Definitely some solidly done Invisible Man horror bits in it.
