..........As all SW fans know;Han,Leia,Chewy and 3PO go to Bespin for shelter to hide from Vader at E5.When they arrive there, everything seems normal at first;Lando entertains them so well, but then we learn that the reason of that treatment is to set a trap to them, for Vader and the Emperials have almost arrived there and Lando (who inevitably obeys to Vader) gets them captured.Han gets tortured,Chewy is sent to a cell along with Threepio. Then,at the next scene (right after "this deal is getting worse all the time"),the Stormies bring Solo to the cell, and after him (Solo),we see Leia is got in.Leia kisses Solo's forehead, she says "why are they doing this",and Solo exhaustedly replies;"they never even asked me any questions"...Hmmmmmm,when-Leia-says-"why are they doing this",that probably means that Vader/the Imp. must have tortured and/or questioned her.Han's respond ("they never even asked me any questions") verifies-my-thoughts-about the scene;for that means Vader asks her questions about something,and-I-think-that "something" is the whereabouts of rebels' rendezvous point, and as far as I observed, there are two key scenes those prop up my opinion (about the "rendezvous point").The 1st is;before the soldiers (of the alliance) go out of the rebel base at Hoth,Princess Leia gives them a short briefing, and at the end of the briefing, she says "proceed directly to the rendezvous point" (before "good luck").So that scene makes the audience know that Leia has the information about the rendezvous point. The 2nd scene is;at the cloud city of Bespin,a-dialog-occurs-between Leia and Han.Leia says "I don't trust Lando",Han replies "well,I don't trust him either, but he's my friend.Besides,we'll soon be gone".And Leia asks "Then you're as good as gone, aren't you?".Well, she doesn't talk about the rendezvous point, but at-that-very-scene,I think GL. makes the audiences remember that Leia does have the knowledge about the rendezvous point.Ok,she doesn't say any stuff about it,but she-indirectly-mentions-about the rendezvous point by saying "Then you're as good as gone, aren't you?".That means that after they take off from Bespin, they'll meet with the alliance at the gathering (rendezvous) point, and Solo shall go to his own way to pay his debt to Jabba...(Oh;by the way,I thank everyone who read/post reply to my previous topic (A scene from "A New Hope") for their interests. There were 29 replies to my thread, and I carefully read each one of them.)

..........And also,at the scene when Leia first appears on the Cloud City;we-see-different-clothes on her;she dresses up for the refreshment. But,at the scene when the Imp. bring her to the cell,she-appears-with-her white dresses (the clothes which she wears at Millenium Falcon)...I think before we see Solo tortured,Leia also gets tortured or questioned (or both) by Vader (I'm saying "before we see Solo",because when the scene first appears;we-see-Vader-coming inside Solo's chamber from somewhere;and I presume that "somewhere" must have been Leia's questioning/torturing chamber). He (Vader) probably questions Leia to get the information about the rendezvous point, and I think;to torture her, they (Imp.) take off her dresses and put kind of a "torturing-suit" on her.Well,my "torturing-suit" opinion might sound fictious, but considering the fact that the events in SW stories take place in a "sci-fi/fantasy universe",ANYTHING is possible. And,also, after Leia's "possible-interrogation" scene,I observed 4 things related with that scene those confirm my opinion;I shall give them by their order of appearance in the movie. The first is;after Solo gets freezed for the hibernation process,Vader says (to Lando) "Callrissian, take the princess and Wookie to my ship".Well,I think Vader wants to take them for questioning about the rendezvous point, because he couldn't get the information he wants from Leia,so he wants to interrogate both Chewy and Leia about it,and he (from his perspective) is right about being so insistent about knowing the rendezvous point, because it's very important for capturing/defeating the rebe

I only read a bit so apologies if this isn't right.
You seem to be arguing that Vader was asking Leia questions, before Han was tortured, but to me Han going they never even asked me any questions is a logical thing to say, why torture him and not bother to extract any information?

The only motivation Vader has through the film, is to get Luke. He doesn't give a damn about Solo or Leia, after all he let Fett take Solo away. Although that does make me wonder why he wanted Leia taken to his ship, he obviously didn't realise she's a Skywalker or he'd have taken her personally and tried to turn her.

Lucas and Kasdan are on-record stating in no uncertain terms that they did not conceive of Leia being "the Other" until the writing of ROTJ in 1981-2.

So, any belief that Leia is being set up as the Other in ESB, written in 1978 and shot in 1979, is in error and contradicts known and published facts.

Also, in the future, please use paragraphs.

Vader wanted Leia taken prisoner because she is pretty high up in the Rebellion.

    Wow, that's a lot of tl;dr.

Just put it on TV Tropes' Wild Mass Guessing page, and please, shorten it a bit.

But he also wanted Chewie, what's the point of that? I suppose he could torture them to try and turn Luke or something. I don't really think he'd take Leia just because she's high up in the rebellion, he has no need for her personally.

The reasons for Han and Leia's torutre were purely as bait for Luke. Vader knew that tortuing them would cause Luke to sense their pain and draw him into Cloud City. As far as keeping Leia and Chewie afterward, I think he saw in Chewie and good source of Slave Labor, and in Leia he saw a barginning chip that the Rebellion might do soemthing stupid to try and retrieve, either through met demands, or an ill-fated resuce attempt.

It is very possible that Leia was tortured by the Imperials to give up the Rendezvous Point however keep in mind that George is very adamant about getting to the point in his storytelling which is why you wouldn't see that.

That is just one reason that makes Star Wars so BA is that we can talk about this kind of stuff.
