The Smiths are probably my favorite band, if I had to pick one.

Other favorite bands/musicians: The Cure, the Pixies, Nirvana, Weezer, the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, RHCP, FIDLAR, Wavves, Best Coast, Ben Folds, Kendrick Lamar.

Nah. I like Eric Stolz better. He seems to be channeling more of that ''Hayden'' look.

    I basically dislike any band/group w/ a whinny front man/lead singer.

I guess "pop-oriented" rap is basically the only rap I like to listen to often, then. :(
I like Drake, though. I can dig it.

And The Cure is cool too. They're my mother's favorite band. No joke. ;)

Hey Hutts, nothing to be ashamed of. :p Drake knows how to make good music. I love the ambient style hip hop with catchy melodies in the hooks and the chill flow more than the boom bap, lyrical flow these days tbh. :p

Yikes. Telling him to break an arm would be much more comforting. At least he'd still be able to walk to his play.

I purchased a used, vinyl copy of 1999 a couple of weeks before Prince died. I was chuffed with it at the time and I treasure it even more now.

Not yet. I'm a Radiohead fan from the Kid A and OK Computer days but haven't listened to them much since.

    He's like a de-tuned radio...

I have been listening to the latest album on high rotation of late and I'm really enjoying it, more and more so with each listen. There's not a lot there to appeal to those fans who want more Creep and My Iron Lung, but if you've managed to get into the likes of In Rainbows then this should appeal. Very dense, multi-layered stuff. Unusual musical arrangements, some of the intricacies of which aren't apparent on a first listen. Very atmospheric. Lyrically it's much more philosophical and less agitated than previous efforts. I guess that comes with the transition into middle age and encountering a few different perspectives in life.

Overall I'd give this album an 8 out of 10, with the potential for further improvement.

I need to check out the new Radiohead album still, OK Computer is one of my all time favorites. Also seeing them live was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

I love Radiohead. No Surprises is a cool tune. Also, Everything In Its Right Place.

The Bends is a killer record as well.
