ARRRRRRRRMAAAAAAAAND. Also, Nikto detective. With a trenchcoat. And a space fedora. And an ex-Separatist background. Also, non-clone Republic Army veteran. Also, Cross's armorer's last name begins with Q. I AM SATISFIED.
Yeah, that is a pretty awesome line-up. Definitely picking up the series, at least the first arc, and probably the entire series after reading a background like that.
AWESOME!!! Note, anytime a Sluissi is used in the EU, I heartily approve. Also really digging the Jame Bond vibe, so no complaints from me. --Adm. Nick
Indeed, I thought the same but an awesome look at the characters like IN-GA being a HRD which I didn't expect at all Cool to see them being used more.
Awesomeness all around! Excellent continuity nods, a very interesting story premise and cast of characters, and good art- seems like they're doing everything right so far. Did anyone else notice the uniform color and insignia on Col. Muhrlein? Looks like one that hasn't been seen before in the EU...
If he's the same guy from the comic preview, which he does appear to be, I think the color of the uniform is just a style or lighting difference. Rank insignia looks like a color variation on the wide, single-row type worn by Bast.
Aaaand the Nikto is my new favorite character. Also, skinless HRD. Sweet. Also, am I alone in pretty much assuming at this point that Dah'Lis killed Iaco? By the way, someone tell me how to pronounce "Jahan".
Director Isard just looks freaking awesome ^^ and of course Nikto police officers outfit is just epic.
End result...[image=http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p354/Manisphere/Agentoftheempirecover.jpg] The added tagline is brilliant!
No. Best tagline ever was (and you all know it) JEDI. . .WITH A GUN?! Both are compliments of the talented Randy Stradley. -- John PS Jahan is pronounced (by me anyway) as Ja-HAN. EDIT mis-spelled words
If stormtroopers are the Empire's hammer, then does that necessitate a retcon for Operation Emperor's Hammer?
I am finding myself very happy with Roux's art. I think he's shaping up to be one of the better newcomers to Star Wars penciling since Francia.
I just hope Roux can keep it up or that DHC gave him enough lead time, he did some great work with Paul Dini on Zatanna so is a good catch for DHC. Had forgotten this was out so soon, will have to stick on the hit list next week at my local - though he generally slings any SW comic in the bag until I turn it down.
Another interview is up: http://www.angrykoalagear.com/2011/12/interview-with-john-ostrander-writer-of.html I've also been seeing some reviews already and they look pretty good. -- John
I don't think I'll be picking this up. The main reason I liked Legacy was because of the vast number of Force-using characters. The Force was the main focus for that story, whereas here the Force doesn't even seem to come into play. A real pity, because I do like John and Jan's work, but a Force-blind character holds no interest for me. I wonder if there will be a sequel to Legacy any time soon.
