Alton Towers Meet? (As suggested by TheDarthVader)

More than likely just because I'll be having to save lots of drinking money for when I go out there.

It would all be dependant on the date I suppose because its definatly something I'm interested in being part of.

Got a summer job June and July but I'm sure I can skip a day or two.

For all those interested, how could we promote our meet, and what activities could we arrange at Alton Towers?

Alton Towers beginning of July, Yay or Nay?

Is seems reasonable that this should be fairly low key meet up. As our first main meet, it will give us a chance to introduce ourselves to each other, and plan future meets and events (the plan for 2007/2008).

 

does low key mean not doing the costume thing?

 

Yay - was rather hoping to see the 501st on nemesis though

 

i would like people to attend costume.

Low key means, people should not expect a huge meet, with 100s of fans and loads of events and activities. As this will hopefully be the 1st of many meets, they will grow and become better as we progress. I just am just stating this, so people do not get over excited and expect a UK CIII, which I would very much like, even though it is near impossible.
We should by all means try and make it as crazy and as fun possible though.

 

lol - no - low key is cool A chance for just the FFUK'ers to get together. If there's one thing we've learnt from the marathon there are quite a few other (non-FFUK) fans out there.......!

I know - I couldn't believe it either!

 

I would like it to be a large scale event, but this will give us the opportunity we need to plan our larger events.

 

I think start small and work our way up. There's less to go wrong with a trip to Alton Towers than there is trying to organise something even a fraction of the size of C3.

I see Alton Towers as a first step. A place to meet up and get to know each other and have a good time. If we can get some of us there in costume then there will be great photo opportunities (though I think armour and long cloaks may be a no-go on some rides).

If this goes well we can maybe think about doing it again in the future and maybe even consider something larger and more Star Wars based.

Arrgh! I wish this had been bumped earlier, they were giving away 2 half price vouchers with saturday's Sun newspaper.

 

I would so come to this! I could drag along my obsessed friend as well! It would so rock, so count me in. Although I have exams until 30 June so anytime after that.

 

I would be up for it. not too far on teh train. would be really cool if after my exams ( my exams end june 17th)

Well the current plan is early July. It's after college and uni exams are over, but before the school holidays and uni graduation days.

Will have to be a weekend though as many people have work.

 

Just heard that, apparently, if you spend £10 in Superdrug they give you 4 bogof vouchers for Alton Towers.

 

I'd go. If I could. We could all stay at the Hotel together and stuff! I would come in costume (Jedi.) I just hope I'm not busy on the weekend you do it.

Also my Dad might beable to get some cheapo tickets through his work.
