They said we'd get first access in the system, not first access to our previous reservation. It seems like anyone with a badge though gets early access, not just those with a badge and a prior Connections Housing reservation which is what was implied. Getting first shot over people that don't have badges yet is better than nothing and considering people who got refunds getting a room shouldn't be a problem.
I figured it would be soon. Hotels would open up booking that next Monday or a Tuesday. So it makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got the email too! At least this gives me a reason to follow up on my previous concern about badge purchases.
I wonder if the June 10th date for the general public is a possible indication they'll be re-selling returned passes by then.
Couldn’t be too far from that though in my opinion. Wouldn’t be shocked to see them on sale a week later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think it will be fairly soon too. Especially since California is dropping capacity restrictions. They may have been waiting to hear on that.
Ok, so managed to book my backup hotel this morning; I booked this before for the 2020 show before that was cancelled/postponed. Its onoy about a 5-7 minute drive to the Convention Center... Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Checked TicketsatWork (non refundable) this morning . The cheapest place was Anaheim Express Inn Maingate at $129 plus tax (~20%) for 6 nights Tues-Mon. Booking.com had it for $160 per night plus tax. This was the place I stayed at last time in 2015 for $80 a night when I booked it right after the announcement. Definitely a 2 star hotel but I had no issues with it plus no parking fees. If it was still around 80 I might think about it but I will go for a nicer hotel this time. Does anyone remember if you can put in any email address when you try to get hotel reservations? I may not be available at that time and I was thinking of asking a friend to sign in for me, give my name. email address, and other info but maybe their CC info and I can change the CC info later to my CC info. I also could give them my CC info if necessary. TicketsatWork screenshot
While my confidence is very high for May, I still don't know if I'm comfortable booking a non-refundable hotel in today's climate. I don't see any reason why your friend wouldn't be able to book a reservation for you if you give him/her/they any login info RP sends.
Yea, I don't book somewhere if they require any kind of money up front. Only places that don't require that and allow easy cancellation. I noticed on Hotels.com that a few more reasonably priced places have shown up for Celebration dates. But not all of them, including the one I usually stay at. So I'm still waiting.
Yeah, thats asking for trouble if you have to pay a deposit beforegabd at a hotel.. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
@ChrisLyne, do you know how far your cousin's swamp that you're staying at is from the convention center? @Padme501st was wanting to know if it'd be reasonable to stay there.
@star_wars_is_good about 13 minutes walk door to door according to Google maps but duloks only (I still have no idea what a dulok is )
Bug spray (deodorant of any kind) is essential for all Celebrations VIP hotel access starts tomorrow people! Hopefully we'll get some idea how access works before the standard ticket access on Thursday.
Yeah would be nice to see what is available. Anyone here have VIP and want to share what they have going on after you get your reservation?
I received an email with my VIP Ticket Holder access code and a link to use at 12pm PT (8pm BST) to access the hotel reservation portal an hour ago. The email says due to extremely limited availability, there is a maximum of 2 room bookings per customer. It also says that the access code will only be valid until 12pm PT on June 10 when the hotel reservation portal opens to the general public. I'll report back after I've hopefully secured a room.
