I've already booked outside of the block but will keep checking the block and other hotels as they go on sale. It's nice to have more options this time.
Hotels.com is showing a few hotels open through August 2020. I'm sure more will start to appear pretty soon, and on different sites.
Some more hotel rooms opened up I guess this morning. I was on the waiting list for the last night of my stay at the Red Lion and just got confirmation that it was added to my reservation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I reserved a room at the Sheraton Park hotel through Costco travel. The woman I spoke with with said many local hotels weren’t open to them yet, so no need to rush. I went ahead and booked a room just to be covered. I have until July 24th to change if I want to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm out of luck until November or whenever I get my new card to place my reservation. They don't like cards with expiration dates before the event.
I had that problem with the last London celebration and ordering tickets. I called my bank and explained the situation. They sent me a replacement card with a longer expiration period. You could try that. I think it took about a week.
Most places have rooms opened up now. Just go a 3 bed suite at the Anaheim Islander for $40 more than our Grand Legacy room, so unless an amazing deal comes along I think that's our group sorted. Closer to the convention center, still easy walk to Disney, and just over the road from the Cheesecake Factory. Sounds good to me! Will probably cancel my other bookings once Yahoo mail starts working again and I can get to my reservations.
My wife was kind enough to tell me that breakfast isn't included in my stay. I think IHOP is going to be my go to breakfast spot.
New hotel is outside of the block. Rooms I'm going to cancel later, 1 outside (Grand Legacy, 2 Queen) and 1 inside the block (2 Queen plus bunks, only partial dates). Honestly, I really hated the official block website and both hotels I got outside the block were a better rate so I'm happy.
Between you and @MotivateR5D4, it's no wonder people are having a hard time finding rooms to book. You have them all.
Maybe..... Haha! To be fair the block hotel had the 3 beds we needed but not all the nights (was waiting to see if they came up), I grabbed the twin room to make sure we were covered for all nights. I know, excuses, excuses
Once the dates open up outside the block, I am gonna search for a bavkup room so to speak... Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I was only looking at ones with suites/3 beds so this is by no means a comprehensive list; Camelot Inn & Suites Tropicana Inn & Suites Anaheim Islander Inn & Suites Castle Inn & Suites, Desert Palms Hotel & Suites, Alpine Inn, and Cortona Inn & Suites are all open for bookings but booked up (at least the rooms I was looking for) The only one I checked that didn't seem to have opened up bookings yet was Anaheim Portofino Inn & Suites
I was thinking I would stay in the Lake Country. There are some places up there that are very isolated.
Looking at the Hyatt place near the convention center on Hyatt's site looked like $500+ a night, but through a a benefit site through work I was able to book a week for about $150 a night, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. My excitement for all of the new releases in the next couple of months is holding me over, but I'm about to get real antsy come January time. Not sure I'm going to be able to handle the wait.
