The galaxy is huge and full of loose ends

 

I just think you should leave other Rebel cells to operate in other parts of the galaxy, it doesn't mean they're not a part of the Rebellion but like the other Rebel squadrons, they're elsewhere.

 

Doesn't mean it should be classified as a genocide.

This is a show that thinks its a lot deeper then it actually is.

 

You are welcome to your opinion of course but a lot would disagree here - it's as deep as any star wars has ever been. You can get away with a lot more in cartoons with flying insects that constructed the death star on geonosis Andor is visceral and real. Also the planet of ghorman itself is going to be made uninhabitable by the mining so will be Alderaanean scale genocide...the plaza was just the start

 

well im going on me my situation everyone is different of course. but what was Leia In A New Hope 19 or 20? when I was that age my parents were late 30s early 40's I am now 43 my parents are a few years older then Smits that would make him a senior citizen with a 19 year old daughter. I know she was adopted but the problem here lies within Smits keeps aging playing the same age character around the same time period it doesn't add up.

 

how is it any different then what is going on in Ukraine? plus the radio broadcast in the end of episode 8 they brought up there massacring of everyone on the planet no one was left alive except the lucky few who got off planet.

 

I mean you could be right if anyone wants to go back recheck? I might while I eat my dinner. But I thought they said everyone not just the square? even if it was just the square thats what thousands of people thats still genocide .plus the drilling will make the planet core collapse anyone left will die. Not the first time we saw this The Deathstar blowing up Alderaan . Andor is not a kids show its very adult.

The developer and construction deals were probably all skimmed off the top. The money Palps made on the back end on concrete alone was... well, more than you could imagine.

Palps kept the trains running on time & the parks built ahead of schedule & under budget.

 

Yeah, they weren't killing the whole planet. Just the people in the plaza. Were there any kids in the plaza?

I think it's a scale problem. I don't buy that this massacre is a major event in forming the Rebel Alliance.

 

But the planet is ultimately going to be killed due to the gouge mining ... The ghor will be a lost race

 

In the first episode krennic says the whole planet will be destroyed by the mining..the irony being after the death star they could destroy it with a touch of a button in seconds

 

What did the Empire call it in this episode? Declaration of Martial Domain.

 

The project involved extracting the mineral through a process that would make the planet inhabitable.
Due to budget limitations, we only get to see the massacre in the town square, but essentially you need to imagine that the whole population got either displaced or killed.

 

Well if you're pushing 50 when you adopt a daughter, then yes you'll be a senior citizen when she grows up. He should be old, and was actually too young in Rouge One. Obi-Wan was a bit of a stretch because it was 10 years after Revenge of the Sith while 18 years passed from the filming of that movie to the show. Ewan was playing older in ROTS so he was still age appropriate. Owen and Beru were too young relative to the actors in A New Hope so it's not as noticeable. Hayden and Ian were under makeup though Hayden was definitely too old to be playing 19 year old Anakin.

 

While I don't necessarily disagree, it just seems like this isn't a good story choice here because it is anti-climatic for the character to exit that way and doesn't seem like something Gilroy would do showrunner-wise. Then again there is still the unresolved issue of Cassian's sister, so unless both of those things are addressed in the last arc then maybe Gilroy does want to leave a few threads dangling...however, perhaps the sister story was dropped when they decided to condense 4 seasons worth of story into 1 season who knows...we'll find out next week.

 

Hopefully both threads aren't resolved in one swing the same way Lucas decided to wrap up both the love triangle and "there is another" when he ended up only doing one movie after Empire. That could get... disturbing.

 

And naturally he hired Santiago Calatrava, infamous for his overunning cost projects. A very Sidious thing to do.
