Characters Any official policy on using other people's OCs

    Hello all,

    I am wondering if there are any official policy regarding using other forum member's Original Characters.

    Of course I realize that in order to use OCs first written by others, one should actually ask the original author. However, some of the interesting characters were written by people who did not migrate to the new forum, and /or simply no longer active. Hence my question.

    The official fanfic FAQ states

    Try to contact the original author, but if you are unable to (I know, people leave never to return), PM one of the mods. We might be able to contact them via outside the boards and if we are unsuccessful, we will discuss it.
